Ohio Ticket help!

Ok so today wasn't the best of days. I was moving through an intersection and as I was traveling through it I poped the clutch and the wheel came up maybe a foot or so. There was maybe 6-7 cars at this intersection. Then I was going up the road,(one lane each way) I shifted into second, and poped it again, again wheel comes up a foot maybe. I hear sirens and pull over. Cop said that I was trying to do wheelies and and was stupid yada yada yada. Anyway at the time my permit was expired and I had no endorsement. At no point did I ride out a wheelie. The cop also said that he turned on the lights and hit the siren but i kept poping the clutch. This is not right becuase as soon as I heard the lights I shut off the bike and pulled over. Anyway I ended up with a Reckless Op and an operation with no endorsment. Any way to fight this? Is there a rule that says no poping clutch? I need to know this so I know what to argue in court. Also there was no one infront of me when I did this and no one behind me as well. Another thing, the ticket also says "operated with no regard to safety" I can say that I had all safety in mind, as no one was infront of me and behind me when I checked the mirror. The cop pulled me over soon after the intersection so its not like he followed me for quite a while. I was not speeding at the time, had full control of the bike and I also had a clean record. Any Ideas? I got a court date June 2nd. Anyway Now I gotta ge tthe permit tommorrow and get the bike out before the fines pile up. Thanks for any help. What are the chances of getting the reckless op downgraded? Thanks again

Dan

Re: Ohio Ticket help!

I basically just want to keep the points off my record, as I had a clean record prior to this.

Yeah, FoO is right.. They have to pay for it, because if it was a MUST tow you didn't pick them. Even if you did pick them it wont matter because its there fault not yours.

I'm pretty sure wheelies regardless of if your ride them out or not, are illegal in every state. Your cop sounds like hes trying to be a di(k though. I would send in your not guilty and fight it, nothing extra can come from fighting a ticket. I would also when you go in there state what you said about no one was around and I wasn't doing it to ride a wheelie or anything. I would prolly try to play it off like you don't know what you were doing and you were trying to learn. The no endorsment thing, umm, yeah, no offence but your fault for not staying up to date on your papers.

Best I can say man, it sucks to get caught for that ****, I know in PA a wreckless is automatic loss of lisence for 6 months. I would try and get that reduced to a careless if there is one in your state... Just my :

I dont remember if it was this forum or another, but a guy had a pretty good idea. Go in and plead not guilty and tell them you want a trial by jury. On something so small most likely they will cancel just because of the amount of money involved in a jury trial. And if not check your state laws, in arkansas we dont really have many written laws, everything is cops discretion or some bs, so you could always argue your point of view and if a jury buys it cool.
