I know we ain't ion cool rounds, but this is in the right place, so i won't be a ****.

honestly, no one can tell you which bike to get, they can only state their opinion.

I'd get like a gix 6 for just cruising, and then get a F2-3 and run that **** into the ground learning to stunt. that is if money ain't a prob

I don't see how age matters...considering I rode tons a r6's and a few busa's. Size wise im 5'10 200 lbs...so why not.

Re: Yzf-r1 or Yzf-r6 ; Gsxr 1000 or Gsxr 750..mainly just ridin south philly south jersey

well insurance for one. age has a lot to do with insurance rates even if you are listed under your parents...i was 21 when i got my first bike and they accidentally quoted me with a brand new 1000 and it was rediculous, and these were nebraska rates and i was still listed on my parents insurance. a busa or an R6 is not the same as an R1 or GSRX 1000, yeah a busa goes really fast, good for it.
maturity is another issue. some people get on bikes and just can't help but be idiots, sometimes it's just not paying attention or just wanting to show off. but i see no need for 15 year old kid to be on a 1000 cc bike that will be your first street bike. really ask yourself the reason you think you need a 1000 cc bike as your first bike. to me it seems like an ego gotta be cool thing. that's just my opinion, i don't know you so all i can do is go with the advice i would give my younger brother and he is 23.
i would kill my brother for buying a liter bike even though i used to let him ride my R6, also i would never let him hop on my R1 either.

I just don't want to get a bike and be tired of it in a year or less. I been riding 600s for like 3 years and now I'm getting the crave for a bigger bike. The maturity issue isn't for me, I'm afraid of the consequences of being a d*** on a bike. I like the looks, the feel, and the power of the R1. It only goes as fast as you crank the throttle, so why not adapt to it?

So..age matters how? It doesn't. Why wouldn't they do it? I'm paying my dad, and he knows I can ride. Rode things from 4 stroke/2 stroke mx bikes, touring bikes, valkyrie's goldwings etc. Drove lots of *00's and a few busas. Age means nothing = kthx

kid you do what you want...my dad would have killed me if i bought an R1 before i did...i almost did too for my 2nd bike, he called up every bike shop and threatened them if they sold it to me...and i had ridden my ex's bike which was a 1000 CC bike plenty and tons of *00s. Personally i know lots of guys who have *00s and have not gotten bored with them in a year, they still have them and they think i am nuts for having the R1. You have plenty of time to get an R1 in a few years....but hey no matter what people say you are gonna do what you want. good luck don't hurt yourself.

How old were you when you bought the R1? I have a 2001 R Six right now, but am planning on giving it to the wife and getting an R1 cause I'm doing longer stretches and have been riding a while longer. I also like the fuel injection...but I know that the 04-05 R Six also has the injection. As for a newer rider that is a little bit younger...I'd definately suggest starting with a six. If you want to upgrade later, just sell the old one and get a new one with more power. Everybody has to make their own decisions in life though and hopefully if you do get the R1 you won't make the decision to see how fast the bike will go on the street.

i'm 25, it's my 3rd bike so i worked my way up to it, i just got it 2 months ago, i sold the R six to a buddy since i was supposed to be deployed, but that didn't happen, they filled my slot, so i came back and bought my dream bike.
i think the kid bought an 05 R six, he put another thread in....wish i had that kind of money when i was 15!!!!

I'm 18.. had an f4i then got an r1 didn't plan on keeping it but did.. I want to go back to a 600. I love riding the 600 through the twisties about 95% more to be honest why buy a 1000 all your going to do is whooolies.. then you'll wreck because you have no idea what your doing.. been there .. done that.. stick with the 600 it doesn't get boring

I'm stuck between the Yzf-r6 the Ninja 636 and the gsxr750...Got the 1000's out of the picture cause of insurance and I rode a lot the other day and I like 600's...Kinda sucks reving out at 100 on a 1000 vs 60mph on a 600, 600cc is still hella fast and throttle response is still quick, for some reason i thought they werent like twist throttle GO
