Re: Event Info, riders look here
any chance of bumping the indiv freestyle to 4 minutes and the team to 5 minutes?
from past experience, 3 minutes is tight if you have a big bag of tricks (like i hope anyone competing in pro freestyle does)...the extra minute allows time to play to the crowd and get in more tricks...just a thought.
also, talked to joe last night....some semblence of xsba rules please??? in other words i dont' want to get beat by someone who doesnt do acrobatics or who does all wheelies or who does easy tricks comparatively....xsba guidlines account for all of this....
in the wheelie race, will there be just the final four in the race? and how do you start? just go when the gun blows and you have to be in the air before you cross the start liine?---ie. you start ten or so feet BEFORE the start line
might want to add the timed endo is a 100 ft approach with longest time BETWEEN 2 100 foot cones....
can't wait...see you bright and early on sat!!!

Judging will be on all facets of stuntriding, i.e acrobatics, stoppies, wheelies, burnout and execution, all rated on a 1-5 scale all on an even scale, none weighted more then the other.
and for the wheelie race = yes , tire must be in air before start line, we will have the compeitors all start at one point (set distance from the start line) first one over the finish / start line wins. If I can recall.. I need to check my notes... we will have 4 sets of 4 riders to start off the event narrowing it down to four riders (winner of each heat) and then will have the final race after the timed stoppie.
And I also believe that the stoppie is going to be 100ft approach, tire must be up in air before cone and goes until your tire sets down.... If you are timing and tryin to start / stop with two cones leaves too much margin for error and would not leave a level playing field.... unless we have guys rolling 250 + with the 100 ft I think that is how it will run.
Re: Event Info, riders look here
okay, cool that works. (wheelie race, endo, freestyle time)
i still have one problem and you should talk to joe about this:
with a scale of ONLY 1-5 to judge on, it is going to be very difficult to distinguish between a 4 and a 5 in each category...ie. 1 very bad 2 being bad 3 being mediocre 4 being good and 5 being very good.
you need a larger spread of possible points to distinguish between the rider that does very hard wheelies, does them well, does a lot of them, and the rider who does the same thing but does a couple circles...you need a possible score of say 20 each category so that instead of only 4 or 5 you have possible scores ranging from 16-20, thereby giving a middle ground of 17 or 18 instead of 4.5
make sense? good. now change it! lol
for 2005 you need to seriously consider xsba/usfreestyle rules...this is the ONLY somewhat organized sanctioning body and these rules were developed from ken abbotts 18+ years of competition experience.
right now your rules don't take into account how difficult my categories (wheelis, endos, etc) were, how well i executed in those categories. they also dont distinguish between doing 2 acrobatics and 8 acrobatics.
most importantly, they dont take into account the RUN AS A WHOLE, something that is vey important in freestyle.... how well i link my tricks together, etc....
think about it....
