Status bar at the bottom. Its slow as **** from home (cable modem) and its full speed at work (T-whatever) even through the proxy, which is usually the opposite.

Re: ads.forum-email.com

I'm not sure.. Gotta wait for an admin to answer this.. It's not doing it for me and the site is just as fast as normal

Re: ads.forum-email.com

It's an offsite ad server that was supposed to take a load off the main site. I haven't experienced too much lag on my machine but I'll check with that server and see if there are methods to increase the speed.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Re: ads.forum-email.com

No it's definitely doing the opposite of speeding anything up. I'm on a T1 bypassing the proxy.

Get a DBA to tune this database if it's running on unix too ...

I figured out the problem. I was using a hosts file that I got off some anti-spam site, that has thousands of entries from annoying advertising sites. ads.forum-email.com was in there. I took it out, and just use firefox's image blocker and its loading pages fast as ever.

look in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Re: ads.forum-email.com

The ads are called via JS and that code is very minimal. (i think 15 lines per ad) so most modern computers should have very little trouble processing the ads.
