Ok, I think I've bitten my tounge for too long on this one. (I wouldn't mind a few US rider opinions in here too)

So I'm told that I shouldn't bother with anything besides an FI (Freestyle Injenuity) cage because it won't be allowed (sanctioned) for any events run through MA (Motorcycling Australia), when the stunt licence thing is put into place. And that an FI cage will be a prerequisite. Yet having spoken to riders in the US both via here, Email and the phone, they say that all brands of cages are allowed in US competition (even home made ones) and that they're not manditory. Now obviously they'd be making them compulsary here to keep tracks clean and venue staff happy, but it shouldn't matter about brand so long as they serve their purpose and are endorsed by high profile US riders.

One rider that was here for the event told me that FI cages aren't as good a brand I mentioned to him. He doesn't run one, but is entitled to an opinion. Another US builder tells me that they take too long to R&R. I honestly don't care what brand I have, as long as I have one.

Here's the sticking point. I've tried getting an FI one from the US and nobody will help me. Not even SHUGGA will return my PMs. And I'm told that there will only be one distributor for them in Australia. He's only bringing two over and won't sell me one. Maybe I'm not famous enough.

I'm rarely one to **** and moan over stuff like this, but this is giving me the ******

So, what do I do?

- Buy one from the US and get told I can't use it
- Try new tricks and fu(k up my bike again
- Make one myself and get told I can't use it (time wasted)
- Sell my bike and become a human cannon ball
- Move to Cuba and smoke cigars all day
- Not ride my bike until the FI ones are available here, nobody knows when!

I'm sick of asking. Anyone wanna buy a Blade???????

 

Just go to the online store and DO IT! I haven't actually ridden my bike yet but it came in handy when I got a new tyre fitted , I just threw the bike on it's side like a pushy
Ah yeah and the bottom loop comes on or off in 3 minutes max if you wanna ride the twisties.....

 

Hey ya Boxer..... From your post I would say that someone is feeding you the BS for sure...... Most of the bikes ridden in the recent events did not have cages!

If the Aust Agent for FI wont sell you a cage, report that to FI in the USA and ask them WTF is up with their Aus Agent! Let me guess AFA/MotoFreestyle is the Agent....????

HAG Race Industries can build you one if all else fails, It was HAGS bike with HAGS own cage on it that Nick Hill rode in Sydney and Melb. PM me or call my mobile and I will give you HAGS number direct.....

FI Cages have been recomended to me, I have a Cage and 12 Bar on its way from FI in the States, however I have been waiting for 2 months and I don't know where it is or how much longer it will take.

I have had a good look at alot of the other cages on the market and to be honest the FI ones look to be very well constructed, not to mention that they had huge F*** of sliders. the Price was ok however postage was a Killer originally quoted at $270 US for postage, found USPS (US Postal Serivce) charged me $120 US, alot cheaper but still vry expensive in my honest opion I will not be trying anything new till I get this on my bike, I have binned my blades togather over 10 times in a varity of accidents and if I had a cage on I would be laughing at 7 of them.

Seriously get a cage it will make you care less about crashing, just think how many times do you think your crank/stator/clutch/engine cases, can take a massive hit before it brakes something other than a Engine cover, Solution put bigger engine covers on, yea then you can crack the engine case.

Who is the Australian Distributor? and do you have any details for them?

Who is using a HAGG cage and how much are they to buy?
any body got a photo of one?

HAG made the cage as a 1 off for his own bike to be used by Nick Hill.. I think he thought it was a good idea after seeing the Yanks trash a few bikes up in Qld.... Anyway it worked well as seen at Oran Park. saved his cases for sure.
HAG makes the H.A.G Race Stands that you might have seen in some shops and would prob make a custom cage for any bike, fitted for around $300-$400. I will have a chat to him and if anyone is interested they can contact HAG through me or PM me for his number.

 

HAG quoted me $500 and told me he'd need my bike for a week!
