Aussie Stunt Vid

Hey guys I just got this email from a guy I met at the Sydney Motorcycle Show , I have replied that I know some guys interested.........

Hey Guys,

I met one of you @ the Sydney Motorcycle Show, sorry I cant remember your name, but I spoke to you about putting together an Australian Stunt Riding Film.

Well Sunday July 4th, we are going to start filming. I have contacted around 20 individual riders so am hoping for a turn out of between 20 - 30 riders (if people bring there friends along). I will have around 3 cameras rolling and am going to talk to some magazines about coming down and getting some photos and writing an article.

If your interested in coming, basically I need you name, location and phone number. The majority of people wanting to ride in a location will determine where we will be riding and filming. So let me know asap.

Hope to hear from you soon, Daniel

Dude im in for that weather its on the street or track, track is best but I think a vid with just track stunts is just a little boring, I've been stunting on the streets for so long now I like it. Harley Davidson would not sell any bikes if it wasn't for the hardcore outlaw gangs I think this sport attracts the same kind of **** you attitude, & it helps the sport just look at the USA and what first attracted you to them vids.

[QUOTE=The Politician]Dude im in for that weather its on the street or track,

This is my worth on the topic. At the moment now one has a choice but to practise on the streets. Bottom line is no one is gonna stop riding crazy on the road until someone steps up to the plate and makes it happen!! Its a sport now and everyone wants in. This means more riders will be tearing up the streets until we have a place to practise leagal, look at the drags best thing ever for fast cars, but we cant even lift a wheel. It doesnt matter how long i wait it will happen! Ive been riding on the road since 17, you didnt see anyone doing stunts on the road except me & my mates, or thats what it felt like. in the last few years with help from videos from the states etc its game on. Us aussies are few years behind but just you wait and see, just look at how it has taken over the states. what iam tryen to say is, in next year or so we will have places to go just like motorcross tracks! Everyone wants to stunt that owns a bike, its going to get crazy on the streets and then we will have places to go just like the drags. The police will have no choice!!

I wouldn't be able to afford getting a ticket and keep riding, but most of the cool stuff I've done with the boys has been on open road rides where we are just having fun!
But there's not much trying new stuff there only old tricks.
So I like both but prefer not to take the risk on the road!

I also got a very simalar email from this fellow. I told him that I was interested, and suggested getting a track or Runway, I will ride on the road but I would much rather be doing it legally, if anyone esle is going to reply maybe hint towards using a track or runway. I will be going to see what he is on about, we could always apply to have a road closed? I got approval from the Gunning shire to close off their roads @ $55 an hour.

just a thought.

Yea Yea, he said that they have done it before for the filming of car adds, and if I can come up with the traffic controllers then It would be pretty much free, (Traffic controllers have to be qualified) there is some hot mix on the road but is a fair drive from sydney and newcastle.

Im sure there would be a small town with some hot mix somewhere we could ask the shire and see what they say?

Re: Aussie Stunt Vid

For those that do not know :
1. It is a nice long ,wide road with trees all around.
2. It is easy to have somebody lookout on the bend before the straight.
3. It is known to by police for drag racing and stunt riding (I even saw illegal street racing on an American DVD filmed on this road.
4. There is a house nearby that complains to the police if they think someone is up to something.
5. Last time we went there when Uncle lunched his gearbag the police turned up for a look-see.

I WILL be going for a look , I WON'T be on a motorcycle.

Honestly guys, here's some things to think about? Has the guy said what he'll be doing with the footage. I'd really only trust a stunter to film a stunter. For all you know he could be from Today Tonight!

HAAAA! there is a thought. his last name is Blogg. Serious I don't think the dude is shifty but I don't see any point for me to drive a car with bike and trailor 3 hours to spend 30minutes riding a bike and then get hasseled by the cops and told to f#$% off.

Is there somewhere else we can ride? Matt whats doin around your way this weekend? thats legal isn't it?

how many of us are there maybe we could all chip in $100 and get a Track, this bloke was talking about 20 people showing up and thats $2000 even if we had $500 surly we could get a full day somewhere. Country airport, dragway, unsed test road, highway that runs onto farmers land, large truck depos, big parking lots, large event areas, empty swimming pools, no no now I'm getting carried away, so does anyone know of anywhere we could go and ride?

You know, I did the Dutton Rally a few weeks ago and we used the Goulburn Airport for a 800m sprint. That could be a cool place!

Hi guys just new here and wanted to say hi and ask a few questions.
1. What would you pay each to have the use of a concrete slab that is 150m x 60m in size (what is the ideal size of the area needed)
2. How far would you travel to use it
3. How many guys on 1 day could you get to turn up
Cheers Hoges
