depends on what you are gonna do with it.4 strokes may be more verastile but there is nothing like the power of a 2 stroke.try to ride both then decide. my vote would be a cr250.my boy has had 3 and loves em.he won't buy anything else.just my

i don't know but right now i have a cr250 but today i was thinking about selling it and getting a fourstroke. but then i thought about haw much easyier it is to rebuild the cr250 so i think that i am staying with the cr250 instead of a new crf450

Re: buyin a new bike

If your going to race moto full time then I'd say 4 stroke cause you don't get worn out as quickly as on a 2 stroke...But if your just riding for fun or stunts go with the 2 stroke...Power band hit's a lot more fun, mod's are more power for less $...that & when the 4 stroke go's it's a lot more money..but the 2 stroke need less money but more often..which I'd rather put a $100 piston & rings in every 6 months to a year instead of $2000 every 4-5 yrs if you ride hard or something lets go.....

thats why I traded from a YFZ450 to a TRX270R, the rush of the 2 stroke was more fun..and then I can do a piston myself without haveing to retime the cams.
