Re: Tricks and safety help?

you need to practice!!!!!!!!!!!!! learn how to rear wheel land & front wheel land. You need to be able to control your bike in the air. Get use to using the clutch and rear brake technique. Learn how to adjust the bike in the air for safer landings. If you want to do more that 1 footers you really need to be getting some air. Build a nice 50-75 foot table top with a long & steep face. Jump this over and over until you feel confident. Lean back, forward, side to side. Figure out what the bike does when you do certian things, that way when you do mess up in the air you have a better chance of saving yourself because you know what you'll need to do to adjust the bike for the landing. Theres alot to it...and its your ***** that determine the size of your bag of tricks...

I have been into fmx since 95 when it started to take shape as it's own sport. I turned pro in 2000, the mistake I see from a lot of people is just getting a bike and trying to do tricks. Do some racing get as much bike controle as possible and start small and work your way up. Thats it in a nutshell. And no you don't need a 2 stroke. any bike that is comfortable to you and is capable of doing the jumps YOU DO is good.

CRF250 would be a good starter its got great power and its so fun to jump its like riding a 125 with a 250 motor atleast thats what i think about the dealeo. theres a pro fmx rider named bilko that rides one and he has no prob pullin backflip cliffhangers so dont let anyone tell you the bike doesnt have enough power for you

Re: Tricks and safety help?

Four strokes are fine, but they are not as easy to throw around. It's not a power issue it's a weight / centifical force issue. $ strokes have engen breaking, when you let off the gass they decelerate faster then a 2t. But the whole ramp robot 60=75 ft metal ramps make it to where the bike really doesn't matter as much. Here's the main deal, go to riding schools and ride ride ride!! DO NOT WORRY ABOUT TRICKS!!!
