stunt quad choice
hey remember i knew to this **** but i notice that most of the wheelers used by the cvbz are 400ex's. any reason in particular? are they just well equipped from the factory to do some wild **** on? to be honest honda's always been my fav. from my accord (ha!) to my cr. and why don't you really see anybody stunting on two-strokes? powerband hard to manage? enlighten me.
Re: stunt quad choice
To get specific… Josh (phear) is the only 1 left in CVB with a Honda… though Hazen did have 1 also.. Rizza and Jordan both do but they are as stunt crazy as Josh anymore I believe.
Now as for the ex.. I owned 1 and loved it and will have another soon enough… ive ridden blasters banshees kfx warriors quadracers and some others .. EX is by far my fav.. and power isn’t everything … anything can be wheelied for distance if u got balance.. and THROTTLE control … just my pennies …
below.. 110 with hardly any power ...

Re: stunt quad choice
get a ltz-400
Re: stunt quad choice
I've actually spent a lot of time on both and prefer the Honda.. but I think the Suzuki is worth getting used to
Re: stunt quad choice
Overall I think the 400ex is the best quad for this stuff....You can now find them pretty cheap, they are extremely reliable, good power and torque, and Honda OEM parts are pretty reasonable.
I haven't had any seat time on a Z400, but judging from what I have read, the Z and the EX are pretty darn close when it comes to "stuntworthy-ness".
If I were in the market for another quad, it would probably be another 400ex just because of the price alone...not to mention the other things listed above.
Now, you didn't really mention if you had a budget or not....if money isn't a problem then maybe you'd want to look into the newer quads like the Z's because they have benefits of their own...liquid cooled, reverse...etc. They seem reliable enough too.
Most all of us run 400ex's mainly because we got them before any of the newer quads came out. Rizza from our crew is picking up his new 450r within the next week or so.
As far as 2 strokes....they are stuntable....just not as ideal. Jordan has a 250r, and I can hopefully get some shots of him rocking that soon.

I'd say the EX or Z.
The Z has reverse and is liquid cooled, but is not as reliable as the EX. Also, you can find an EX for less money. It's really whatever you preference is. If you are going to ride hard off-road or jump it at all, you'll be much better off with the EX.. they are bulletproff, and the Z frames... well, I've seen more that have been broken, than not... if that gives you any sense of how the workmanship is on the Z frame.
