PIECE OF $hlT

MY 400 ex is actin up! Its cold and when it is cold it just wont start it will idel for like 30 seconds and shut off. IM thinkin of selling the crap and buying a z, do you guys have any idea whats wrong with it?

try turning your air/fuel screw out half a turn more than it is.

It's the screw on the side of your carb that allows more or less air/feul for the mixture. Referr to a manual before you start turning screws if you don't know which one it is! By adjusting that screw you can control this mixture. It may help it run better depending on elevation or tempature.

Its right on the bottom of the EX carb....in front of the float bowl and behind intake boot.



you can see it in this pic...its the brass flat headed looking screw...... its kinda hard to get to when its on the quad... so loosen the carb clamps, angle the carb....then use a really short screwdriver to turn it a half more turn out.

i charged the battery and tried some dry gas and it seemed to be a little better but in the summer when i sell or trade this thing its a z400!!!!

Ill have to find a retarted kid to buy or trade it

I think its all right now though i cahnged the air fliter and put in dry gas thanks for the help guys
