i know this is prolly a gay thread but my Step brother thinks he is the king of the world cuz he can wheelie and says Raptors are not good stunt quads cuz they have too much power but rides a 1000cc streetbike and says you need all that power kinda contradicting huh??

i ride a 03 KFX 400. its my first sport bike so i cant compare it to anything cept a Prairie 650 and 360...lets jus say that the wheelies are a tad bit easier!!

 

Z400's and 400ex's are pretty much the way to go in my opinion.

I think the fact that Raptors are not ideal stunt quads has to do with a lot of factors. Many of them I can't mention because I don't have much experience with them. I have only ridden them a few times.

I don't think you can really say they aren't good because they have too much power....Just my opinion though.

has anyone had a chance to ride the new 400ex??? Im just wondering if they are as good as the old 400's PLUS the reverse thing...

still cant beat a Z .. res front shocks and smooth hand controls

 

you can beat a Z. my info says i have a EX and a Z, but the Z is really my brothers... we just kinda trade off. but even he says he likes the EX more, for a stunt bike, (reverse is nice in the woods).

everybody keeps sayin the Z's are better, but nobody really knows why. i heard somebody say something about the oil not starving as much as the hondas but that's the best arguement yet. my front shocks are always in the air and the controls can't be that much nicer than honda's.

the Z is an awesome bike though, don't get me wrong. but im stayin true to honda. YOU SHOULD BE TOO, TILLER. SHAME SHAME SHAME

and as for the raptors. everybody and their mother says it had too much power to stunt. after i hear it another hundred times, im gonna believe it.

 

hmmm, i dunno... I think Z's are good cuz the throttle is very smooth, and the clutch is as well... makes stunting that much easier... I heard Raptors are Garbage for stunting because , for one; they tend to **** and fart if you put them in a 12 o'clock. I have heard more, like the axles bend easy and stuff like that, but not really related to stunting.
Too much power tho, thats sumtin... doesnt even sound like a real sentance, does it? It's like too much money, or fun, or vacation time, ---well, you get the idea.

 

the clutch is smoother, i WILL admit that. maybe the throttle too.

with that being said it basically comes down to personal preference. i mean people stund MOJAVES and BLASTERS, man!!! can't we just agree that the ex AND the z are tied for best stunt quad? lol

i can hear you out Barry, cuz i've seen vids of you owning the Z. but some people are just jumpin on the bandwagon.

and for the record, the Z will beat the EX in a drag race, but my EX power wheelies in 5th. you have to clutch the HELL out of 4th to get it up on a Z.

 

amen, brotha! I would be happy to own either, and it is true, even with mine geared down and my fatt @$$ on it, you were hard pressed to "get it up" in 4th, let alone 5th...
Someone should "sponser" me a quad...lol... like, it will be both of ours, we'll just keep it at my place... hehe

maybe when you're already pushin like 65 all topped out. thats the only way i can get it up w/ no clutch in 4th or 5th- top of the gear. and there's not a thing wrong with it. totally stock. your boy must have that duncan 450 kit. who knows man. i ****ing rock em both. i cry honda honda honda but i got the Z in my avatar so im full of shat either way.

I'm pretty sure that B-Rod's Z is a 400... and we have video of this 5th gear wheelie with no clutch. I think it's a matter of Bryan being a little heavier than you. Personally... at 200lbs, I can almost get the front end of a sport quad to lift up by jumping on the rear grab bar with the engine shut off. It's all a matter of weight transfer.

 

sorry, wasn't trying to start an argument....just meant that Bryan's Z comes up like cake in 5th. I have not had mine out of 3rd yet, so I can't say for sure.

The only mods he has are a K&N and a T4, but I know that he was doing them when it was bone stock too.

 

working on stuntin my 05 honda trx450r got the slow **** down but i tent to keep stallin when im goin to slow at 12

 

drop a tooth in the front and maybe add a couple in the back 1st gear in those quads are steep and you gotta ride the **** outta the clutch

as for fifth gear coming up my 450r aint got a prob even in stock form

 

You can pull a stock 400EX up in 5th no clutch. Sitdown.
