though it did tempt me, and that *** purple color is hot , I'm looking for something smaller to hit the racetrack with, and a 929 is WAY too much to start out with on the track.

If anyone has some a wrecked bike I'll buy it back from their insurance and throw some cashola their way for setting me up. I'd rather get it before it goes to argos and they quadroople the price.

Re: hey teach (teach thread number 450396)

AQll the 600RR's on the site are priced about the same. So whichever they'll drop the most off I'd be interested in picking up, if the price becomes reasonable. I'd be interested in something else if the price is REALLY good. Do they advertise full totals, like if I were going to pick something up for the track only? At the prices they list after all the repairs and hassel I'd be able to buy a 600RR off the showroom floor and save a good amount of chedder.

I'm sure I can print up as much money as I need on my printer or something. But I'm not about to drop 6K on a bike for my first year of racing, and then have to outfit it. I'd either want to spend short money for something that can never go on the road, or I'll spend decent cash on something I can run on both. Simple to rig up lights, blinkers and a license plate onto a trackbike ya know.

Re: hey teach (teach thread number 450396)

can prolly do a nicer RR for 5g, maybe less. there is a nice one with everything for 55, like i said, five or less.

there is one with no lowers/upper i can prolly do closer to 45 or something.

if you were smart, you would go f4i, or even a 2001 and up gixxer 6, they are great on the track!

Re: hey teach (teach thread number 450396)

jay, deal of the day:

2002 (or 01) gixxer 600, salvage title, 1100 miles. BRAND NEW Penske rear shock ($700), Traxxion valved front suspension, scott's damper, race plastic already painted. new barnett clutch, engine cover, fairing bracket.

trev at argo's raced this in the JR division at Loudon for half a season. decent rubber on there too.

stock #830

this thing is ready to go and i can personally vouch for this one, it was the pick of the litter back when me and trev were racing.

4500 takes it home.

needs nothing

Re: hey teach (teach thread number 450396)

ride NHIS a few times a year, not racing anymore, cant afford it.

have ridden a couple tracks out west near CBO, and a couple in PA, i forget their names, but they are a lot faster than Loudon.

stunting sucks compared to racing, but it soooo much cheaper!

Re: hey teach (teach thread number 450396)

We have loudon and hopefully this year we'll have tamworth. I've only ridden loudon a few times so far but I got the bug, might be doing some travelling over the winter to run some other tracks. I may even be able get in on some track days out in cali around the time of motogp while I'm out there. Reminds me, Teach, I think we have some extra room if you feel like taking the trip for the US - MotoGP at laguna, early July.

Re: hey teach (teach thread number 450396)

lots of people move to cali for track days....there really cheap $45-$85 tops...
here in IL they are never cheaper than $145...and most are $175+
they just are about to open one more here in chicago but you have to be a fuggin memeber $15,000 to join and $3000 in due's a year....sux (RT 66)

tires, gas, parts, full leathers ect...
just to much money to do often...
thats prob why so many of us use the streets as our race track...kinda sucks..but
