pretty much, real nice job for getting the story from us at 2am while we were all shaken up.

nice to meet you all, it was a blast until then.

Here are a couple more details.....

Tony and Erin and Shauna anI were on our bikes heading back from the weirs, we turned left off the rt 3 bypass onto rt 106, there were a couple of sportbikes behind us as we got to the bottom of a hill on 106 a R1 passed me on the right-in my lane and did a power wheelie. I was doing about 50 or so. Right after he passed me a Gixxer 1000 with CT tags passed by me and did the same thing. Only problem is the rd tuned to the left. The R1 put down and made the turn, the Gixxer didn't. From the tracks and damage we could see that the bike hit a street sign, then we saw it buck like a mechanical bull, hit one rock wall, cartwheel then the went through some trees and came to rest on another rock wall. The trees were really thick-I have no clue how his body go t through them. Shauna had some EMT/nursit training and was off my bike before I even stopped. The crash was maybe 100 feet in front of us. She held his hand and was there for him until the ambulance arrived 15 minutes later. There wasn't anything anyone could have done.

It really shook all of us up. I guess the thing that really bugged me was the R1 bugged out immediately and never even slowed for the crash. The R1 had NH plates and the Gixxer CT, so its possible that he didn't know him but impossiblw that he didn't see the cartwheeling light and us pull over.

If anyone finds anything in the news about the rider/accident I am really curious about his condition. I know at least a leg was broken.

Chris

From the Union Leader-

A Connecticut man suffered a severe leg injury early yesterday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a tree, Laconia police said. Ashley Gates of Ledyard was riding along Parade Road, near Pickerel Pond Road, at about 1 a.m. when the incident took place. Gates, whom police said was about 30, was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.

Gates was transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, where he was in serious condition last night. Police said they believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Anyone have more? If that's all that got hurt it's amazing

I agree with that, my sympathy for him is not very high, however I really feel for his family and I keep seeing that image over and over.

When you get to a crash site and all there is is the sound of long low moans and twisted body it shakes you up.

Yeah, I just get a kick out of idiots... that's all. I mean don't get me wrong because I wish no hurt on anyone. Plus, I'm an idiot too. I had my days of squidliness.... I understand. I guess I just got out of those days without serious injury and it's funny seeing people who make incorrect decisions at incorrect times.

Very stupid.

so I'll to that

So a big "Sorry" to the guy who got throttle happy with some budweisers

I completely agree with you Chris. No matter what I do the sound and sight just stays with me. I was sooo shaken up I didn't stay at F trains. I drove Lindsays car home at 3:00 in the morning, with her and shauna passed out (yea i got home at 5am after sunrise). It sucked driving for 2 hours without company, but it was worth being home. I needed the comfort level. By the way thanks for the invite anyways F train. Hope to see you guys again. Drive SAFELY!

I think when someone gets that seriously hurt it is not funny in anyway. We all do wheelies and crash. Is it funny when we crash because we are being idiots on bikes doing wheelies or stoppies??? If he was drinking and that is still an if, then yes he may have been a jackass but that still does not make it funny. Especially for the people that we know that were at the scene who now live with these memories or the people at the house who at first thought it was someone who was staying with us that crashed when the Nextel cutout and we did not know until later on it was not one of us.

The one thing that pissis me off the most was the guy that he was riding with. One bike had NH tags and the other one CT. Where they friends because they were parked next to each other earlier in the night down on the strip? How could you leave someone like that after seeing him crash into that field and keep driving away? Even if I was drunk I would have stopped to make sure my friend was ok even if that meant I was going to jail.

I doubt that one also. I think you would shed a tear if your friend died and would lose tons of sleep and wake up sweating scared to ****. I know if my friend died not matter what he was doing I would be upset. Ever lose someone close? If you do then you will understand that not matter how they died and how angry you were at them after his/her death in the end you will forgive, love, miss, and mourn them even if it was their own stupidly that caused them to die.

Not trying to start a flame war but some remarks are a tad disturbing. When I read accidents like this in the newspaper and it does not effect me personally, I try to learn from their mistakes and clean up my life so I do not male the same ones but I do not lose sleep over it. We are creators of habit and most of the time we fall back into the same old routine. I am by now means to criticize anyone who drinks and drives (either motorcycle or car) until I no longer drink and drive myself. I bet more then half of the people reading this are in the same boat as me.

I understand what you are saying ftrain... in no way would i ever laugh about a situation like that...but like i said before...I don't feel bad for the people that hurt themselves when they drink and drive... i feel bad for the people that they hurt...i've always told my friends that... and i'm sure if i ever lost a friend in an accident i would feel bad yes...but i would also be extremely upset by their stupidity to drink and drive thinking that "it could never happen to them." I have had friends that drank and drove and got himself wrapped around a tree (he was ok in the end) but don't think i didn't go into the hospital and yell at him for being an idiot... I myself have never drank and drove... it's just something i don't do...

As far as seeing the accident...i feel for those people that have to live with that...2 years ago in daytona i was unfortunate enough to see 2 people die literally in front of my face - they were hit by a drunk driver in a ford explorer... it could have been any of us... so people that drink and drive don't sit high on my list...

Do you wanna put money on that... get core6 and rm together.. throw my brother and sister into the mix.. get them all hammered and give them keys to a bike...

I was right behind my sister when she went down because of user error... i told her to stay the fu(k down, and called an ambulance...
I have watched people die doing a new drug for the first time, look roomates in the eye as the were about to do cocaine and told them im shutting the door to my room....if **** gets hairy dont bother knocking. Saw a dude get stabbed to death right in front of me, and another shot. Maybe its cold and morbid, or maybe I just dont view death as such a bad thing. Or how bout people are responsible for thier own stupid actions..and its just darwin theory at its finest.
