Sportbikes for really short people???

What sportbikes are there for short people? Went to Billerica Motorsports yesterday with Camille to check out the new SV650S but it was to big for her. What are some small sportbikes out there?

There are none..well none that I like or that i am interested in. I guess you just buy a bike and lower it. That's what i do. I have no other choice

.

I've got it: liscence plate+pocketbike, there ya go,jk

I'm 5'8" 140 and I have a 2002 R6. I can barely touch the ground. When it's windy you should see me at interesctions stops. I sway wicked bad. Kinda funny but I must look like a tool.
I'd love to get a lowering kit, but I don't want to mess with the bike that way. Slammin down the underside coming down from stoppies wouldn't be nice.

But yeah it sucks that they don't offer something for the little people like us.

depends how short..... Ninja250 is what i recommend. they use those in the training courses, cheap, and good for short people. although i'm 5'9" so i get the nicer bikes. lol

Do not get her the Katana or the Ninja 250.... she will leave you.

But yeah it sucks that they don't offer something for the little people like us.
You're 5'8'' and you think you're short?? Yikes! I'm 5'5'' on a good day and I can still manage to ride a bike (though I do look like a lil' kid sometimes if I have to stop on uneven pavement).
A lowering kit is the way to go though if you don't want her to leave you.

Hey - just buy Tara's bike.... it's already lowered and everything!
And it sure is perdy!

I'm only 5'3" and I have an FZR600 (not lowered) I can get the front part of my feet on the ground. My brother is a short guy too and rides a 900RR, he tip toes one foot at all stops!!

Buy her a f4i, I am 5'5 and I am fine on those bikes. Also a r6 is good and then if she needs it get her a lowering kit. do not go any smaller than a 600, she will be bored of the bike and not ride it after a month.

thats my opinion

Yeah but someone that is just learning to ride can't be slidding their *** off and on the seat. Camile is just learning how to ride right?

a friend of mine is about 5'5" and bought an R6 after not even a month of learning on a ninja 250, he handles fine on the road...except for when stopping or slowly turning on an uneven road...he dumps it every time without fail

lowering kit would really help out

why not look into an f3 or f4 and just have it lowered

How low do lowering links go??

I have wanted to find a bike for my girlfriend, but i dont know how low the links make your bike. The lowest stock seat hieght i have found is 30 inches and its on an fzr600. Would lowering links take it down to 28 inches?? Just curious so if anyone out there knows please shed some light for me.
Thanks,
Ben

PS. Does anyone know if there were ever any cbr400 or gsxr400(i know they exist in europe) imported to the US like the fzr400 was?? These would be nice beginner bikes as well i would think.

f3's are nice and low, and very easy to lower if needed (cheap too!)

GS500s are low too....if she likes the naked bikes (personally, i think they're cool as hell)
