ya, you can still go to any trackday or open practice i believe...if they give you a hard time, just let them know you have taken the school.
i wont be up there to the thursday of the first weekend for open practie ...

i think you can get by with the penguin certificate...afterall that is what teaches you the rules of the track and the basic line....not entirely sure though...best to call penguin and ask the boss men

I did the class w/PrplHaz4 last year. I went to an open session a few weeks later. Unfortunately I crashed out but thats another story.
I think you have 6 months from the time you take the class to do the rookie race and get your license. You can do Open Sessions during that 6 month period. To do open sessions after the 6 month period you should have completed your rookie race and have joined the AMA.
When I did the open session it was fairly casual. I was still in my grace period but no one ever asked me for my certificate.
I could never get a straight answer from anyone up there re prepping your bike. Everyone I asked gave me a different answer. Some said full race prepped bikes. Others said no, just prepped like Penguin requires. I only prepped my bike to the Penguin standard and it passed inspection.
Hope to see you up there this year. It was a lot of fun.
