Gearing limits for the fiddy

I was wondering what is the largest front and smallest rear sprocket possible to put on a fiddy. I did a search and couldn't really find anything.

I went +2 in front and it didn't look like you could go any bigger without having to bust out the grinder

They sell 13,14,15,16 and 17 front tooth sprockets and

like 22-39 rears. At least that is what I've seen.

I currently run 15 front, 32 rear stock is 14 front 37 rear. I wouldn't really suggest messing with the gearing at all unless you have a Big Bore kit or a lot of other performance mods. I would only recommend going up or down 1 tooth on the front and up or down 2 on the rear with a Stocker. Changing 1 tooth on the front sprocket is the same as almost 3 on the rear sprocket.

Call them at Classic Honda Usa they have them all even though they aren't all listed. You can also order them from www.gearworksmfg.com <--- which is owned by a fellow SL member, ask for Gene. :YEAH

Re: Gearing limits for the fiddy

Thanks guys for the replys.

Just to let Silver know, I have pretty much every mod for a fiddy besides a bigger head (looking to buy) and manual clutch. My motor wants to pull more, but my gearing and 3x10 tires wont let me go any faster. I just wanted to know the biggest gear I can put in front, and the smallest I can go in back.

I used to have the same setup you had,

I would go with a 15 front and 35 rear if I were you and I had that setup. :YEAH

Re: Gearing limits for the fiddy

right now i got a 15 front and 32 rear and it seems like i cant go any faster. the motor wants to pull but the gearing wont let it. I was thinking of getting a 16 front or a 30 rear. My friend has a 30 but it's for a z. You think i can drill out the holes necessary for a xr?

Re: Gearing limits for the fiddy

a manual clutch will give u more gear. the primary and secondary drive gears for a manual clutch have a higher gear ratio. if thats something u are interested in let me know and i can give u a good deal on a clutch kit.

call classichondausa.com and tell them what you need.

You could never drill that out properly

get a big bore and a manual clutch. the compression will drag that sucker down.
