The stock brakes seem weak "mabye cause im 180lbs lol" but is there a way to tighten em up or to get them stiffer?? have to pull them all the way to the bar to get any stoping power.

 

Just tighten the adjusting nut on the wheel end of the cable.

 

and maybe scruff them up some......maybe they are glazed over a bit.?

 

they are like 5 days old surely they wouldent be glazed over already...

HOW EASY IS IT TO CHANGE OUT THE FRONT SPRINGS ON THE XR50? I WAS WONDERING IF YOU HAVE TIME WHILE WE ARE DOWN IN HOUSTON, YOU CAN HELP ME OUT WITH THAT. I GOT MY REAR ONE ON, MY BBR HANDLEBAR KIT INSTALLED, AND PUT A NEW 3.0 BACK STREET TIRE(30 MIN), BUT HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE HOW TO DO THE FRONT SPRINGS? IS THERE A WAY TO RE-INFORCE THEM. JOSH(JOKER FIDDY CREW) SAID HE PUT SOCKETS IN HIS LAST ONE.CAN U HELP ME OUT?

 

No, I havent even looked at it since then. I figured i would wait and let Dan???? look at it when he is down here.

 

well then i can almost guess 99 percent that is what you need to do. The stock front brake setting is usually soft and mushy when you first get it. Just tighten til u feel comfortable with it. Just follow the brake line all the way til it stops by the front wheel, that's where you tighten it. That's all I did.

Then if its something else, have dan look at it LOL
