Still can't work the rear brake
Still can't work the rear brake
Ok so I've had my 50 for awhile now and I can get the bith up to balance point but can't keep it there. Either I hit the brake and the thing comes down right away, or I don't hit it hard enough and I loop the son of a bitch. This is getting really tiring because I've been workin hard on riding the bitches out. Do you think it could have anything to do w/ my rear brake cuz I used to be able to slam on the brake when I was riding and it would come to a screetching halt. Now it just slows down to a stop but quickly. I wonder if I need to fix my ****. Could this be the reason why I still suck?
Re: Still can't work the rear brake
2 things to do hero....screw your rear brake nut in a few turns or take the wheel off take some sand paper to the inside hub and brake pads...just alittle bit helps alot... i noticed afetr time they get a little glazed... what am i sayying i'm the one thats going to have to do it considering i'm your friggin mechanic????????
Re: Still can't work the rear brake
or, stay on the rear brake constantly, while revin up motor.....you can almost even it right out, half to 3/4 throttle, half rr brake and keep on the gas, and keep feathering the rr brake....

Re: Still can't work the rear brake
You really shouldn't need the rear brake all that much. I hardly ever use mine anymore, only if I screw up and go back a bit too far. I can ride the BP, or even slow em down without ever using the back brake. It's all about throttle control, baby. You should be able to hold the BP with constant throttle and just cruise like that.
Your goal should be to ride BP wheelies just off the throttle. The back brake is only a save-your-*** thing if you goof up. Unless you're doing 12s or some other more advanced stuff like that that requires using the back brake.
In other words... practice, practice, practice!
Oh, and it may not look pretty, but it might help ya to learn the BP & throttle contol doing wheelies with your feet down. Once you can ride the BP til you run out of gas and slow wheelies down to a crawl, you're ready to try it again with your feet up. :YEAH

Re: Still can't work the rear brake
I can rock it w/ my feet down for as long as I want and make it creep real slow. It's just with my feet up I can't. I'm thinkin my rear brake is just ****ed cuz I have to push it hard as hell for it to even affect anything. So hopefully I can get that **** fixed.{fiveo}
