Vegas 50 owners question
Vegas 50 owners question
Is this true? Does this mean all I need is a mirrors to ride a 50 in the streets of vegas?
Scooter info
In the state of Nevada, scooter driver's are required to have:
A motorcycle endorsement
A license plate
Two mirrors on the scooter
Riders must wear a helmet
Riders must wear eye protection
Insurance
That said scooters and mopeds smallers than 50cc do not require the rider to possess a motorcycle endorsement, a helmet, a license plate, or insurance.
If this is true... that minimoto event is gonna the shiate!!!

Re: Vegas 50 owners question
I have never put that law to the test cause I've never been pulled over. I see scooter riders out here all the time without helmets and I dont have mirrors on my bike. I guess you also have to remember to do hand signals in case a cop started following you.
I have ridden on a lot of residential roads and crossed some major streets without issue. PArked at a 711 and got gas etc.... A friend of mine road a few miles up Tropicana without any problems. So by all means try it while you are out here.
Just remember, no all the cars in vegas are marked, they use a lot of chevy Suv's with hidden lights behind the grill. And they can all pull you over.

Re: Vegas 50 owners question
In Michigan, a scooter or moped rider does not need to wear a helmet if they're over 18, but a fiddy specifically says on the title that it is for off-road use only, and you cannot get a plate. Then there's the no lights, mirrors, or insurance issue too...
GoPeds and any other non-moped class scooters are illegal in my city, unless they're being used on private property: it's posted on their website. Only mopeds or scooters with all moped equipment can be ridden on the road legally, and only if they're plated.

Of course, this is only going to be an issue if the cop is being a jackass ..most of the cops in my neighborhood laugh at my fiddy or smile as they drive past me and see my doing wheelies, but a couple weeks ago, a cop saw me doing a wheelie right in front of my house and started giving me **** for it. He told me to take it home or he'd impound it, so I pulled it right in the garage as he sat and watched, then pulled right back out on the Killin' Spree. It has plates and all road equipment, so he couldn't say anything.
