Re: who knows about the enduros?
First pic. Husqvarna supermoto.Gone now. Fun bike to ride to work. No dirt tires for it and I wanted to trail ride so it had to go.
Just picked up the Yamaha in the second picture. Full ***** and street legal. :YEAH I will convert it to supermoto later this year. No cash right now.
With all that said, the XR is kind of a heavy slug. Does its intended job well though. There is a local guy to me that is riding one done up for supermoto. Looks good and goes ok too.
KTM's are good. Expensive, but some are ready roll supermoto style if you want that. One of thier models comes from the factory with dirt tires and street tires.
Another option is Yamaha WR450,426,400. Should be able to street title it. Check with your state first,of course. I bought my bike used and the previous owner took care of that. All I need to be "legal" is a high and lowbeam, tail and brakelight(hooked to the rear brake pedal) and a mirror on the left side.
3rd option is the Suzuki DRZ line.
That should give you a good start. Maybe explain what you might do with it other than ride to work. If that is all your going to do,dump the cash into a little older sportbike. Trust me on this. You can get a decent sportbike for the money you will spend on most d/s bikes. A d/s just can't run WFO and keep up with traffic for long. When I ride my bike to work I end up leaving 15-20 minutes early so I don't have to go the freeway route. Puts me through some twisties so it isn't all bad.

Re: who knows about the enduros?
Buy a kx500 and street legalize that. But then you cant go to gas stations and get pump gas, unless bring your own premix. Kawasaki has some models like that,
2002 KLR650
or 2002 KLR250
or 2002 Super Sherpa
Or yamaha 2002 XT225
Or 2004 TW2002
The Kawasakis were 2002 cause I can link you to the site, and the yamahas are under dualsport.

Iwas out on my WR400 tonight. What a friggin riot. It is geared way down (-1 in the front) and wheelies in fifth gear with a little bounce while standing up. Lean back, cover the rear brake and ride that sucker till your arms hurt. :YEAH If you tried that on those D/S up there it just won't happen.
