I just put some 3.00 scooter tires on my fiddy for some parking lot races. (it rails, BTW) But these tires are way taller than stock, so now it's geared way too tall.

So what gearing will get me back to approx what stock was? +2? +3?

 

Uhh, I don't think that they would gear it much higher than stock. Yea, they're a bit taller, but I doubt enough to throw off your gearing. If anything an extra tooth in the back should solve this "problem". I always thought fiddys needed all the speed they could get.

 

i know when i put the 3.00 on it made it a lot slower
i have a 15 in the frt now and its nice im also running a 75cc kit

 

It woulndt make it slower, It may accelerate slower but have a higher top speed. Everybody has a different definition of speed.

 

Don't do anything, after a while you will get used to it.

 

I meant acceleration. Or should I say the lack thereof. I'm sure it does have a higher top speed... if it would ever get there. I don't really care about the top speed so much anyways. I've been doing parking lot races against pocket bikes and they're killin me coming out of the corners cuz it's so slow now.

i have same tires a 88 kit 15 tooth sprocket in front 35 in rear people may take off faster then me but i always win

 

If you want the low end torque back go to a 13 tooth front sprocket. Its the cheapest way but you may loose a little top end.

 

I went ahead and picked up a 39 rear sprocket from BBR. (gotta love living 10 miles from BBR) I'll prolly put it on today and see how it does.

with those big 3.00 tires you might need a longer chain with the 39 sprocket

 

When you dropped your front tooth down, how did that effect your torque?

 

i lost a little but its still ok
1st gear is so much better

 

Dropping one in front makes it slower with more torque.

 

is a 15 dropping or adding ?????
