z50 Parts Washer

OK so I have this set of z50 forks that need cleaning for subsequent restoration. I also don't wanna go down to the car wash to blast them off (they are quite greasy). So I put them in the dishwasher.

I'll let you know in an hour or so how they turned out. Look at that white pretty dishwasher about to get F*&ked up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He he

Yeah. I guess. I took them out early after I saw the destruction they were causing.

I am fuct. I went and bought some orange hand cleaner stuff, and some Foamy Engine Brite and tried those. It's gonna be a waste of time though, and even though I got some of it clean, theres just no way. Anyone here sell dishwashers???? It's a Whirlpool (well not no more, more like Greasepool). I think I'm just gonna pick a new one up (they're fairly inexpensive) and me and my neighbor will put it in. That should work.

Yes I know, this was not the brightest thing I coulda done..

Re: z50 Parts Washer

dood, i just did that to my washing machine 2 days ago. i threw about 20 oil soaked rags in there and it came out lookin exactly like that. it took about an hour and whole bottle of some orange cleaning stuff. the secret is in the HOT water. take the racks to redi-wash and do those there. its better than spendin $300 on a dishwasher.

cover it up and don't use it

you can scuff the plastic up and paint that **** white :-)

try some concentrated simple green or some acid that you clean car rims with(detail shop will hook you up with some)

Those ideas should work

one last thing

Re: z50 Parts Washer

Make a combo ov everything you can to clean it, clr, simple green, oxyclean, lots of dishwash liquid, those little cube things, toilet bowl cleaner, braxo, comet, spray the sides with windex, eventually it will come out. Just make sure you have towels on the ground befor hand.

Re: z50 Parts Washer

next time when you want to clean up your fork legs just use brake clean and some rags.mayb use some brake clean inside the dishwasher as well just to knock off the worst of it.
