XR, CRF Suspension mod. FREEEEE

Ok this is the "Fish tip of the day" I was talking to him and he told me about this little trick, and I must say it is cool. Works great. You can gain at least 3" of height by just moving a bolt. Look at pics. Remove rear upper shock bolt. Get a couple large washers and ... WEll look at pic

The second pic you will see that the washers is what is holding it in place. You can notch the frame for the bolt to sit, however it does not need to be. There is enough pressure and the way it is in there that is not needed.

I know there is a tech section, but I dont wanna use it. LOL

Well this is not a new thing. FISH is not small dude. And it WILL NOT MOVE.. TRUST ME. He said a ton of people are doing it out there on the west coast. I rode it this morning. And it is TIGHT.... Much easier to ride. TRY it. It is alllll good. I would not post something unless I knew it worked.

When you put it there, you will realize that it cant move. The way the bracket is, it has a ledge that holds it from moving.

Re: XR, CRF Suspension mod. FREEEEE

LOL...... Hey, suit urself.... I like it, it works.... I am sorry I posted it then. I was simply trying to pass along some info that I have tried and works.

As far as a hole, there is other things that you can do, notch the metal for the bolt to stay. Get the metal tabs from a BMX that will be used to hold the rear wheel in place. I do not jump mine, so I do not have to worry. If you jump it, that may be another story. However, if you only street like I do. Then no worries. The swingarm will not allow for the shock to come out.

Re: XR, CRF Suspension mod. FREEEEE

your alright dude just everybody giving there like they should....the only thing i could think of was to make 2 peices of metal that are triangle in shape with 3 holes...use the existing shock hole on frame then drill hole some where close.... then mount the shock on 3 hole....twobros.com use to sell a fox shock that had a piece that looked like that

Re: XR, CRF Suspension mod. FREEEEE

Re: XR, CRF Suspension mod. FREEEEE

Are you ****in crazy???????????????

I thought you were going to drill new holes..........??????????

Notching the frame for a shock mount?????????

I bet you could easily make up a dogbone type plate though to move the holes forward which would work.
