got a free honda 110 motor

I got a free atc110 motor the other day. I have heard this motor will fit in a 50 frame. Does anybody have any experience with this?

where do you think would be the best place for parts? dratv.com has some stuff but I didn't see an intake, stator, stator cover, or a rev box/computer. Then again I don't know a whole lot about these motors in comparison to a fiddy motor.

ok i have looked into the same motor.. The problems that we encountered was it was Points System, Pull Start, amd it seemed heavy.. But i guess with some work you can make it work..

Thumbs up

I have one too complete, but the 110 and 90 are the same on the motor mount points. The only 90 or 110 that I have known that fits are those ones they sell on Ebay for about $400. A real Honda engine of 90 or 110 is going to need a little work but is possible. The distance betwen the two mounts is longer when compared to a z50 mounts. I mocked up the 90 motor on a 91 frame I have, I put the motor in using the top mount, but the bottom you are going to have to redrill holes on the frame mount plates. If you use the the bottom it didnt seem like it would be more work to mount it. It is not a direct fit but if you can measure and drill, you can do it. Also you will have to trim or remove your front fender as it will hit it, but it will clear the tire. I think you might also have to mount the carb sideways with one of those intakes that mount in 12 positions, I could be wrong on this though. On the wiring and points, I dont know what exactly you need but on Ebay I saw some ct or sl90 coils and cdi with wiring. You need to see what year motor that is and if its points or CDI. I wanted to do a swap like you might try but I have too many projects so I will live with the 50 motor for now or until it blows. Any more questions, let me know as one day I will do this swap. Also is this tranny has the hi-lo range in it. You can see the lever and the box on one of the pics.

that hi-lo range selector sucks. gears are prone to breakage on three wheelers
