Saw some complete kits with tranny, cdi, carbs and everything for 500 bucks or less. I thought instead of buying a Big Bore kit, i would just replace the whole engine and that would free up my current CRF50 engine to build an extra bike (would get a 90cc and a 4 speed autoclutch) just to have around for friends and such. Let me know what you guys think and/or know about these engines. Thanks

i just sold a honda z50 replica that had the LIFAN 49 cc engine in it

that thing ran good

with the right tweaking it would run great, but it had some carb issues, now if all you had to do was change a jet or what not then it would be worth it

but it's hard to find replacement jets and ****.

you could how ever get one of the engines and put a honda carb and rejet it.

 

I have one of these engines with an 88 kit and head, it rips you cant beat the fourth gear, Ive been running it for some time now with no problems, the only thing I dont like is that the shift pattern is all down, its reversed.
