i have a 1995 Z50 I abuse the Hell out of it. every time i come in to the pits or something I lose a bolt, or both holding the bars on. How can I fix this? I thighten em up untill its about to crack, lockright didnt help. any ideas?

 

Get new bolts/lock nuts...your old ones are too stretched out to matain any "tightness"

if bolts dont work, then your only other option is to weld or get a bar kit (if they make them?).

Invest in 2 lock washers....probably about .03 cents a piece.

They will never loosen up again on you.


..... on second thought buy yourself a bigger bar kit.

 

check your welds were they mount, i snapped mine off.

Are you talking about the bolts that clmap to the bars or the triple tree? I had the same problems on my 79 z50. come to find out the threads were stripped out so i had a friend take the bolts out and machine new ones into place.
