i just picked up an 04. for anyone thinking about getting one. do it. it is a blast. it might even be more fun than riding sportbikes. anyway i'm running bone stock, what are the best mods to do to it. i'm on a limited budget. whats the first things to do. is there any thing that i can do that doesnt cost much money.

if you ride sportbikes...then you must want to stunt the biatch. Get some street tires (available in the stuntlife store). It makes wheelies and stoppies much easier, or so i've heard because i still can't do either. HAHA.

Well I'm not really tall (5'7") and I have no money for new bars yet. I just drilled new holes that were about an inch or two forward. It works fine for me. It'll hit my knees if I do a full turn and have my legs on the tank, but barely. First thing u should do is get new springs. I am fine on the stock fiddy, but that thing don't like 5ft of air...

Bars are the first and best mod....then go on EBAY and buy a foldable shifter.....because the stock ones bend like paperclips.

If you plan on riding dirt/jumping/trailriding, spend the $100 or so and buy some stiff fork springs, and a stiffer rear spring.

stiffer springs (front and rear) and a new pipe were my first... i ride pretty hard on dirt so it all depends on ur riding style

The rear shock is a peice of absolute crap. Go with the ishock. You can get one for $180 it raises the back up to inches and gives you 6" of rear travel. It's a bigger investment but well worth it. Then just buy front fork springs. If you really like going big you can get the plus 1 fork legs that are an inch longer than stock. Then get the fork springs that make the bike 2" taller. I can ride mine out the back of my truck and not bottom out. And thats a big drop.
