Rear brake isn't needed, but helps a lot. I don't use the rear brake while doing no footers.

I never use the front brake when I wheelie.

I looped hard Sat afternoon. I was doing a wheelie thought I was in secind hoping for some engine braking let off the throttle and nothin. By the time I hit the brake It was too late and I was sliding down the road on my ****.

I think I broke my *** and tore my taint............ouch

I have to agree that using the rear brake while you're learning is a big help, and also important if you want to do more advanced stuff later like 12s etc. I saved many a loop with the rear brake while learning, but now I can wheelie that **** pretty far and hardly ever have to touch the brake... but you bet yo *** I'm still covering it!

I'm sure you could learn to wheelie without ever using the brake, but I think your learning curve will be steeper/longer than if you did use the brake.

IMO, knowing when/how to use the rear break can be an invaluable skill to have... you never know when you might need it on a street bike! I can pretty much guarantee if you don't have any experience using the rear brake, you are very unlikely to successfully use it to save a loop on a street bike when you really need it!

one of the main reasons i bought it was to advance brake control. i was out for about two hours today and am finally starting to get them alittle better. i am leaning back alot farther and it hit s the sweet spot. a buddy who is real good on a fiddy rode mine today and said to rip out some plug in the airbox and to take the spark arrester out the exhaust. will that make it loud? i've been riding infront of my house without incodent, but don't want to **** the neighbors off.
