Wheelie Question

I've been practicing the hell out of wheelies, but I have a couple questions. I start out in second, I put my *** almost on the plastic rear, pop it up & lean back. I use the back brake if I travel past the balance point, but do I keep aplying brake while I give gas? Do you keep accelerating all through the wheelie? I seem to hit the top of second and it comes down, but I dont like traveling to fast doing a wheelie I'm still a beginner. Its nothing like doing a wheelie on my cr250. Also I seem to fall side to side, should I extend my left foot to keep balance? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I mostly about your balancing point. I can ride wheelies pegged in 3rd gear or at walking speed in First. Any type of body movment to keep your balance is fine. I still do the occasional leg kick especially when learning circles. I have a 88 kit and I don't ride the brakes to hard, only to keep me from going over. Anyways just keep racticing and you'll get it!
