Clutching 2ed gear wheelies, using the shifter

Sup, Wusup..........

Ive been messin around with slow speed second gear wheelies. Ill get rollin slow in 1st gear , click the shifter up and hold it up , rev the engine and controlably slip it into 2ed. Is this going to KILL my clutch? Sooooo much easier to control . Seems alot easier on the drivetrain.

Do you guys clutch it up or just lean back and goose it?

Dude I have been doing that all summer . No problems yet .
I have also been using it like a clutch when we drag race em'.
You can get a sweet holeshot ( pack the wheel in the air for a good 10 feet ) .

I just lean back and goose it up. I can do it going pretty slow in 2nd.

I can't imagine shifting from 1st to 2nd in a wheelie.. far to violent. 2nd to 3rd maybe, but you should be able to ride 2nd gear wheelies all day long. No need for 3rd unless you want to wheelie really fast?

I tried shifting in a wheelie a few times. After I skidded the *** out of my nylon swim shorts, I gave up.

1 to 2 to 3. and back down to first. on demand.

i always "clutch" up in 2 or 3. no probs have aroused, and i've been at this for a while.

How do you shift gears in a wheelie?

i dont shift or clutch. just lean back. sometimes i use the rear brake to preload the motor for 3rd. that way there is no delay.

How the hell do you do that??? Do the Z's shift smoother than XRs? I can't shift mine smooth just putting around. It will jerk hard and wheelie (unintentionally) going into 2nd even under mild acceleration. I can't imagine trying to shift from 1st to 2nd in a wheelie. Well, I can imagine it, I imagine I'd be on my *** in a heartbeat!
