CRF50 Disc brake conversion

Re: CRF50 Disc brake conversion
This may sound a little anti-honda but, I got my stuff from partsforscooters.com for around 80 bucks. Get the front wheel with disk attached then the caliper and master cylinder come all together. I did have to weld some home made brackets on but it works sweet. I will try to get some pics of it.

The fork set up is the hard part. I was able to find some brackets that worked and weld it directly to the fork tube. They sell fork tubes too but I havent tried them. If you are going to do that be sure to get some new fork bushings, I know the ones they give you suck. I have some bushings from 50stunt and they are great.
My brake was soft too for awhile. I bled it then just gave it some time. After a few rides it was good.
Before you go through all that work you may want to try the brake mod posted on here, everyone says it works good.

Re: CRF50 Disc brake conversion
its not as simple as it sounds for the conversion. besides that the extended arm works well and then it becomes more about technique and entry speed then brute breaking power

Re: CRF50 Disc brake conversion
when converting to hydraulic front disc brakes usually the best way to go is get a full front end.
I did an ebay knock off conversion for like 200 bucks for my 50 and it worked great for like 3 years... the person i sold the 50 to is still using the front end and it's goin good.
The only kit i know of that will use stock hub and stock forks is Storm Cycles kit... they sell for 185 bucks new, or at least they did when they came out. Thats how much i paid for the kit.
I still have the kit, i took it off after i got a hydraulic setup. I will sell it cheap.. Forgot i had it actually
