Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
im just trying to find a good starting point cuz 38pj and 90 mj was all screwed up ran like crap had super bad low end bog so i went to the 58 pj that the carb comes with and the low end bog is gone but i think 58 pj may be too much cuz once its warmed up it dont idle or run smooth what kind of set up are you running on your 88

If I were you I'd start with the bike at temp and get it to idle then move on to the low end bog and then 3/4 to wot.
what's your setup?

Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
yeah going to do a few changes tonight and stunt it a lil up top its doing that weird rev limiter thing where its geting to much gas and not letting it rev out to the actuall rev limiter i got the carb for a local fiddy shop here in the city
Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
put that 100 mj back in sounds like it's lean up top. get a jet kit and make slow changes. don't change the main and pilot at the same time, do one or the other cuz you'll be chasing both. you'll sneak up on the tune with slow changes.

Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
going to take down the pj a few sizes i think thats my problem, the 100 mj made it run like crap, im just trying to lean it out the friggin thing runs so rich, plug is always sooty black
Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
mine did the bog really bad when it was lean and would rev but not make power when it was pig rich. can you get a jet/pilot jet kit? I went rich then slowly leaned it out til it was snappy and the plug looked good. I'll probably be re-jetting it in 2 months when it gets warmer.

Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
Did you port your stock head out any. Cuz I did a lil and I'm thinking that's why I'm having a beotch of a time getting the jetting right I may have open the intake up too much
Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
I have the race head and cam from TB. re-jet your stock carb and try it, might work better with your setup.
Re: Keihin PE 20mm questions?
I've been playing with the sheng wey carb that comes with the tb kit. the plug is either white or black no in between and there's a stumble between 1/8 and 1/4 throttle. I'm gonna mess some more after dinner and see what I can do. if i can't get the stumble gone I'm buying a keihin
