cant pull a wheely but can ride one
hi i just got a crf70 and cant pull up a wheelie on it i can put my feet down and then once it gets up i can ride it with my feet on the pegs but i cant pull it up cause i weigh 100 pounds but i orderd a 10 tooth bigger back sprocket and was wondering if u think this will hep or should i get somthing else i dont have much money because i have to mow yards for money
but if you think of somthing that will help me pull them up but i can ride them so i dont need like a handbrake or anything

Re: cant pull a wheely but can ride one
Clutch it up w/your foot .If you go up 10 your top speed is gonna be 15 mph .lol And at 100 pounds you could do it by coming to a stop gas it & pull up . Timing is everything .

practice by gassing up the front end and using the rear brake for better control.. just keep with it. it took me a while but now its soo much easier after finding a balance and using the brakes
Re: cant pull a wheely but can ride one
The trans. will be fine, just clutch that hoe! I weigh 145 and I can rock wheelies on a crf50 with no problems. It's all about timing and weight transfer!
Re: cant pull a wheely but can ride one
Hrmmm cant pull wheelies up, but just ordered a +10 rear sprocket.
How come i have a feeling that 70cc engine isnt gonna last long.....=-)
PS: Your weight would never be an issue. I weigh more than you and i can murder my crf50. If WE can do it on our 50's. Theres no way in hell you should have a problem on a stock 70cc and you weigh 100lbs. Hell u even have a clutch to help you out, LoL...=-)
I will tell you like i've told others. Practice and seat time is the ONLY thing thats gonna teach you how to do it...=-)

Re: cant pull a wheely but can ride one
going up 10 is quite extreme. Im going to run a 40t (thats +3 from stock) and thats PLENTY. Might even just go down 1 in the front not sure yet. I weigh 160 and have no issues what so ever getting the front end up, on stock gearing/motor. Figure with some minor gearing and still on a stock motor should be lil more fun.
Re: cant pull a wheely but can ride one
okay too alll my problem is not riding the wheelie its just pulling them up and too everyone saying they way more than me and can wheelie their 50 has the totally wrong idea more weight on a smaller bike makes it easier but thanks for the replies n e way also i returned the back sprocket and got a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket because the 70 has no torqe stock gearing and im not woried about reving out because i can shift while doing a wheelie thanks for the replies keep em coming
Re: cant pull a wheely but can ride one
Its really all about timing . When you get that down it will be easier than you think . Let off on the gas a little , crack the throttle , wait a second for it to kick the power in , then pull on the bars .
If you are standing up on the pegs , you can push down on your pegs or bounce it a little when you pull up .
