Hey i was wondering if there was a way to put a 12 v light system like that arebis on the front of my 50 so i can ride at night. If someone could send me in the right direction of how to wire up my strator or get a good one already done for cheap that would be awesome. I really want to have them incase i have to ride at night. Any DIY or anything would be a great help.

Buy two fog lights from AutoZone and make a bracket to mount them to the front... Then hard wire them in

i use two bell led lights on mine, they mount right up...i do have a wired stator, just to lazy to install

Make sure it's an LED maglite. I have had mine for two years on the same batteries... on the other hand, I don't think you would want a 3 d-cell maglight taped to your handlebars

but if something breaks bust out the good ol honda repair kit.

heres a link so you can see what all comes in the street legal kit..... you can go to any dirt bike shop and they can get them or you can just get the parts you want like that stator and light..... i think this winter im gonna convert my 50 to a mini motard

 

is there a way to rewrap the stator to give it more output? i dont want to spend 70 on a stator and then 20 on a regulator and 50 on a light

 

im sure there are ways to do it but i havent really looked into it.... i know you can prob get all the parts you need off of ebay for cheaper or.... im sure there is a write up some where on how to do it if there is a way... it just has to be found

 

here is what i did on my ysr, ran to wal-mart, picked up a small 12v battery and a on/off switch, ran to autozone, picked up some cheap bumper lights, bolt one lamp to the front, and simply wire it all to the battery.

I'm running a total loss system ( must recharge the battery once it dies ) but it works great, and is easy to do.

 

i just dont want to use batteries...

oh sorry, i was just saying the easiest way, othewise you would have to buy a new startor and all that junk, the battery i have is super small (about 2x4x4") and light. and cost me about $50 to do, and will last a few hours before it dies down.

you could always rig it to the cdi, but then it would get brighter/duller depending on your rpm's,

i was hoping there was a way to rewire your strator with like 16g copper wire and being able to pump out more amps.

 

Buddy of mine did this a while back...used an Acerbis SF setup and wired it to his stator. His bike was stock so it ran like **** when the lights were on (no power). Maybe if you have a larger or built motor the extra draw from the lights wont affect driveability?
