so i cant mount that light to a stock Honda XR50 without getting a stator? i thought it says to just tap into the CDI box? somebody post what else i will need as i was going top order that light off ebay..

 

You need a DC output lighting stator. Your factory stator outputs AC voltage. Therfore u can not run a DC lighting circuit on your bike. Just like a supermoto.......Without a stator that outputs DC voltage....Your **** outta luck...=-)

Aftermarket stator (out puts DC)

Headlight (whatever u want)

Voltage regulator/rectifier (to keep a steady 12volts running and not over cook ur ****)

WooHooo now u can run all the lights u want...=-)

 

Or just use a light bulb from your house! Go flourecent if you want the HID look even!

 

haha i always have wishd there was a cheaper d.o.t. kit like a streetfighter light w directionals hi/low beam and horn, rear directionals and brakelight.. i tried making one from parts at radioshack but i have no knowledge of voltages and battery sizes so it hasnt got finished, i basicly made a wiring harness shaped like a H and put a battery pack and lightbulbs and some switches,really ghetto and cant get the **** to work.
it would be cool for my supermoto build cuz it has a title and can get a motorcycle plate..anyone know electronics?

 

went to my local a affordble insurance and showd them the cert of origin and they said i could walk out w a plate,$200 a year basic coverage

 

2 years of my life spent getting my Associates in Electronics Technology.......Yeah i think i know some electronics. I may have to look at Malvino from time to time. But as long as it has a source and a ground, i'm sure i can make it work....=-)
