Got this one... Initally was going to make my own, but for the price this looked like the way to go

 

keep me posted on how that light works for you! i am thinking of getting one for night rides! i have no need in legalizing mine, just want to see where i am going when i am running! lol! i am band from the streets till november 2011!

 

LMAO! I'll let ya know, not sure on looks yet but it's easily removable so that'll be a plus.

I hope to have a thread on it with kind of a "how to" on lighting a 50.

 

Nice! i like the look, its a copy of the acerbis cyclope and i have one on my 599 stunt bike! i also put one on a 1990 zx600 i built! dont have any good pics of it but it looks and works great! just wonder how well the knock off mini version will work.

 

I have no clue how well it'll work, but I'll be the guinea pig.

it says it comes with only 1 halogen, but has 3 lights... makes me wonder WTF bulbs the others use... I'd guessing a H1 or H7 for projector and maybe 194 for the 3rd bulb which I'm assuming is the thing between the headlights (like on a Gen1 SV650S)

 

Just keep in mind guys. Having a bike as little (short) as a 50 is VERY dangerous on the streets. Especially here in Louisiana with the retarded cagers we have around here. Its bad enough the cagers always say "I didnt see the motorcycle coming"....IF they cant see a normal size bike. Then that means they sure as hell are having a hard time seeing the 50's, LoL.....=-)

Yeah I'm just doing it for the fun of it more than anything.... But cool I can ride to buddies house with no issues. My busa sold today so after paperwork is done, I can go pick up an 09 in Houston and start modifying it while taking breaks to play on the 50.

Sounds weird, but who knows... I'm curious how it'll look.

Pretty sure you need a different stator

 

Dont forget ya need an aftermarket stator to run your lights with the DC regulator rectifier.....Stock stator doesnt output DC...=-)

 

Headlight came in today... I'm digging the look though just held it up there. There is ZERO instructions that came with it, thank God I got my BS in this crap! By some freak chance, anyone know of an instruction link?

Weird part is appears to be two regulators, one in a box and one out....

Yeah I just stuck it up there, did cross my mind on where the brake cables and throttle will be.

Thanks for the link, kind of hard to make out but better than I had before! I'll drop them a message in hopes of a more clear wiring diagram.

I haven't messed with it, been looking at new busa parts at the same time, lol.

As for why I like them so much? Comfort.....that's pretty much the main reason. Not the prettiest of bikes (new one I'm still iffy on), but it's sure as hell comfortable.

 

so i cant mount that light to a stock Honda XR50 without getting a stator? i thought it says to just tap into the CDI box? somebody post what else i will need as i was going top order that light off ebay..
