Staggered wheelies?
Staggered wheelies?
Alright, Ive ridden my 50 3 good times now, and I started not knowing how to use the rear brake at all to keep from looping. Now I can ride 1st and 2nd gear wheelies all day, sitting down. I can usually slow them down or speed em up. My problem now is that I want to start learning some new **** because I have the sitdowns on lock. I have one stunt peg (BMX peg) on the left side. I keep trying to pull staggered wheelies up, but every time I bump the wheel up, the bike wants to fall to the left or right as soon as I get it up. I cant seem to figure out why it wants to do this. How important is tire PSI? It shouldnt matter that much that I have the knobby tires right? They are worn pretty bad too, so its not like there are huge ***** on it. I dunno what the deal is here, give me some advice. I think once I can do staggered here I can pull circles the same day. Im too big for always riding sitdowns, lol, and I know the circles will come way easier if I am standing up.
No HB yet, I will order like the stage 2 stunt kit here pretty soon, but for now I got what I got.

Re: Staggered wheelies?
I run my pressure a lil low for a fiddy i guess at 15 but thats my preference. I learned sit downs first and got circles on lock before i could ride a staggard wheelie and keep it straight. I thought it was hard to learn, but what helped me is to make sure your left foot is straight and to control the bike i keep my arms straight and lean the bike with the bars and your body to control it. It took me alot of practice to get it so thats how your gonna learn is is trial and error to see what works best for you.
Re: Staggered wheelies?
Staggered is a lil complicating because ur body positioning is off center. You have to learn to compensate for the positioning. They are easy after u learn how to position urself with them. The stand-up game is ahrder because all of your weight it being put on the rear wheel (with 2 stunt pegs). This makes this bike come up with less throttle. Which also means that when u are use to sit-downs (having to use the throttle so much). When u start doing stand ups u tend to give it too much throttle, because ur not use to having all ur weight on the rear wheel.....Stand-ups u should just pull up with it and give it very little throttle. It will find BP pretty quick and pretty easy once u get use to it........Also for what its worth, get a rear HB from 50stunt. You will have more freedom to move your legs around and not have to worry about always having ur right foot over the rear brake....=-)
Re: Staggered wheelies?
Just keep at it, I learned staggered before I learned sit downs. I personally thing stand up are easier to learn because you don't feel like you are falling back. I'm still workin on circles tho.
Re: Staggered wheelies?
with knobbies it will tend to throw you more one direction or the other i highly recommend street tires for street riding...
if your always pulling left use your body to tilt the bike right once it comes up and you figure it out over time how much you gotta lean to get the bike straight...
once you get the stunt pegs on there stand ups will be EEEEAASSYY just learn back pop it up get bp then lean forward and ride...
good luck m8

Re: Staggered wheelies?
I learned standups first and I had the same problem with side to side balance too. It just comes with a lot of seat time. Sitdowns were a lot less natural for me, but after I got brake control from standups, they were cake (still can't do sitdown circles worth ****). Also, since you've got brake control pretty well down, try doing them in second til you get more comfortable with the position, that way you don't have to worry about side to side balance as much and you can get a feel for working the throttle/brake while standing.
