No I wish I only have a CNC router I can mill aluminum on it but its messy I dont have flow coolant. One day I'll have a mill to tool around on, but my trade is woodworkin...

The parts are Hope from the Uk their like the top **** for down hill mountain bikes...Their parts are crazy their like mini billet Brembo parts. My friend owns a bike shop and he loves 50's, when I saw the caliper on his toolbox I had to have it. He tried putting these dual disc n calipers on it and it was like sticking a sitck in the front spokes, so he sold it to me the rest I orderd after....

Re: Motard style big brake setup!

Formula brake Sucks!!! hahaha i used to work in a MTB shop, only high quality parts (so no formula ) but massively Hope components.

U shoud of try to get the 2007 brand new MC they look maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad pimp, i just wish i coud fix it on a streetbike !!!! the one u got is pretty old yet, good one fo so, but doesn't work as good as the newer ones!

Mono6ti caliper is sick tho, with red bore caps, always liked how u can customize ur hope brakes with many colors!
check out their last product, the "Moto" is a big double bore caliper, made to get a ****in on/off feelin for the hardcore riders!!!
2007 MC is on the pic too!!

got some Hope Hubs on my mountainbike, some of the best parts on the market fo so

and For u US guyz haha http://gallery.mtbr.com/data/mtbr/85...m/IMG_5401.JPG

The people I bought from told me the new MOTO master cylinder would not work properly with the Mono Ti 6 caliper(MOTO is a closed system not open like the MOMO), so I bought the PRO lever...And they discontinued the Mono Ti 6 caliper, everything they make is now standard post mount....Also that MOTO lever is only avialable with a complete brake kit right now, so I couldnt buy it seperate at the moment anyways....

The Formulas that come with the Marzocchi forks are different from their mountain bike brakes, they are specificaly made for mini bikes and KTM minis come with them stock.....They were really good when I swapped to motorcycle brake fluid(RBF600) but as I started rolling over 100 feet the pistons started to come out of the caliper crooked. So the pads are wearing very un even and I got metel on metal contact on the rotor. Thats why I think the 6 small pistons in the Mono Ti 6 caliper will be better at not comming out crooked....

I have a billet Reeg hub but I have to machine it and and make an adaptor from 5 bolt pattern to 6 bolt...

Love the bore caps and other accessories! Even the rotor carries can be orederd in any colour you want. I even got Ti bolts for it and some different pads to try out....Whould you happen to now what are the best pads for these?

if u ain't happy with this MC, try this one then http://www.rivierabike.com/photos/hopemonominiT1.jpg

this is the one we always used, and some of the sponsored riders i was buildin bikes for used too!

And yes formula brakes are not that bad, in the first dayz of use, once u get em too warm (as u said) it's the beginning of the end, i refused fixin any formula part in the past year cuz i knew i was puttin my hands in some shitty products Lol

'bout the adaptor, i know through all ur post that u can make one with no prob, but if u 're lazy doin it, check out magura brakes, they got adapters from 5 to 6 holes if i remind correctly (i don't work anymore in this shop haha!! ) maybe even hope does some but not sure at all.
And believe me, postmount is cool, Int. standard is good to get crazy if u want it to be set perfect!!

Bout brake pads, keep it stock, i mean only hope brake pads, they're from far the best ones for Hope brakes, i even got hope pads on my shimano calipers!!!
u got two different type of pads, guess the sintered ones will be the best but not sure how long it will last for that kind of use!!

Re: Motard style big brake setup!

as it seemed strange to me u coudn't fix the new MC on the 6ti caliper, i search few things on the net and found this

ask ur dealer if he can get a MOTO V6 master cylinder, the one i showed upper was the Moto V2. I'd be surprised they modified the 6ti caliper and keep both the 2 diff version for sale

And if ever the brake pads ain't enough for ya, try to get the nasty vented rotor!!

this one, i wish i coud try it :YEAH

Re: Motard style big brake setup!

after few more search, i found back some infos on the mono 6ti caliper u got, seems like it's well an open system too, so u shoud of be able to fix the new MC on it, when it will be for sale as a separate part

Re: Motard style big brake setup!

Yeah maybe I'll try and get the MOTO V6 lever later, I havent seent that only the complete V2 systems. I dont like that they changed the 6 pot calipers to post mount though, I guess its easier and cheaper for people because they dont need extra adaptors for the radial mount, but the older radial mount Ti 6 calipers look so sick!

As for the rotor I was going to buy the vented but its too thick for the Ti 6 caliper I have, they said it will only work with MOTO V2 calipers....But I think the one I bought should be fine because its foating, bigger, and wavey so much better then the plain 160mm Formula rotor. Im just not sure about pads because there are some many different brands and compounds, I got the standard ones that came with the caliper and I got a set of Hope sintered to try if those arent good.....

This is my friends cheap Hayes setup I made and its working great! Im gettin 125ft plus, but it eats up pads fast! All I did was put a big 200mm rotor instead of the 160mm the kit came with and it like doubled the power and feel....

i agree the former version of the mono 6ti was quite nicer, but hey, what d'u wanna do with this haha, and postmount is a lot better to fix it perfect, u don't need to play with 0.2mm spacers for mins and mins Lol

Hayes r the best cheap setup, i had em on mine before i stepped to shimano XT 4 bore calipers, it's pretty on/off but actually powerful!!!

Re: Motard style big brake setup!

Its from a new CRF70.....But it only looks good if you have bigger forks....If you have stock 50 forks it would look way too big IMO......
