just got a fiddy some questions?
just got a fiddy some questions?
Hey everybody, i just picked up an 04 crf50 for 600$..Pretty good price i guess. My only question is that i cannot wheelie that thing. It seems like it doesnt have enough power. On my chinese 70cc knock off i can wheelie taht thing for blocks.. What should i do to my crf50 to get it stunt ready? Im thinking about the trail bikes 80cc stage 2 kit. Do you guys think that should be suffiecient? Do i need to regear it after the kit? Im also planning on getting the 12 bar and make my own rear hand brake. Also im upgrading the forks with some delrin bushings and heavy duty springs, and also got a big bar kit from 50ccracing.com coming. So you guys thinking the 80cc kit will be enough power?
Thanks, John
Thanks, John
Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
It does have enough power stock, you just don't have the right timeing to do it. You have to floor it, wait for the lag, and then pull up. I put the trailbikes 88 light bore kit in my 50 and I am happy with it but I wanted to get better on the bike before I put the 88 in. I think that if I just through the 88 in right away I wouldn't have learned half of the control that I have now. Just my
You also don't need to regear it but you probably should.

Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
honestly the big bore kit should be the farthest thing from your mind right now, just focus on the little things, the bars and a 12 bar are a good start, then id go with some suspension mods, a ishock works really well in the rear and id get some stunt pegs too, maybe a new air filter some street tires and the rear handbrake is also a good idea which you already mentioned
Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
a pipe is a good idea in most cases but i myself ride my 50 not just as a stunter but also as my main form of transportation right now and living in the city haveing a loud exhaust is definatly a no no

So true... i waited several months before i went big bore, but i still wasn't able to rock endless consistant wheellies. So i learned wheelies faster but i had no control it was all shoppy on-off-brake-gass... so i had to later force myself to be smooth adn have good control.. i love getting back on stockers and rocking blocks, just cause it takes more skill and it seems more fun having to use more skill than power... either way i love the 88 and wouldn't recomend you not to get it because i know a stocker wont pull me uphill in 3rdand i don't like that, so i'd wnat the power anyway.
as for the re-gearing... if you go 88 at least add one tooth to the front sprocket, it smooths out the power a little and makes it a tad faster too
Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
i have the tb 88 kit and honestly i am gunna be buyg a stocker i think they are so much easier to rock stunt wise you learn alot faster the 88 kit is tought to find any balance point and the throttle is real touchy so lean back and gas er up
Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
you don't need to, mine is completely stock and it'll do slow, fast wheelies, slow, fast circles...everything....you just need to practice, stockers will do just about any trick imaginable.
but do whatever you want.

Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
I agree with everyone else. Learn a whole bag of tricks on a stock bike then go big bore if you even want to at that point. I rode with a guy that was thinking the same thing when he bought a stocker but when he was pulling it up in third and rocking for blocks he was glad he didn't.
Re: just got a fiddy some questions?
def rock a stocker and if u get nasty enough and want more power then think 88 but there is little to no bp and it is hard to hld anything especially just learning
