installing bearing races...HOW!@#$%
Hey fellas...
how in the hell do you get the bearing races into a new frame? I ended up destroying the original set when i got the new frame and tried to install them. I have now got the new set but and got them as far as I dare (about even with the leading edge of the head tube).
I don't have a socket big enough or anything and a C-clamp just doesn't work.
Any helping hints would be great.
Thnx

use a block of wood and a hammer... get them set in, place the wood flat over them adn use thehammer to drive em in... some are tougher than others... some people have said they've had to heat the frame and put the races in the freezer for a few hours to get them to go in easier.. i always just beat them in at room temperature

thnx bro...I tried the using the wooden end of a hammer and then a second hammer to try driving it in but that didn't do very well.
I called the honda dealer...they quoted $35-$70 to press them in which is way too much. I will try the wood like you suggest.
Thnx again

The wood trick worked pretty good man....I took a 2x4 and cut it to be 1 and 9/16 think and rounded off the corners on a grinder...used a 4 lb. mini sledge to drive the races in with some wd40 love juice for good measure. They went right in.
Thanks for the tip!
