piecing one togetha'

chain\sprockets here, a big bore kit and some bigger bars there, tires, ect. im starting to buildup a pile of slightly used, parts, mostly stock. ive been thinking that maybe i should piece a bike together from my left overs and other's on ebay. anyone done this before? i was thinking it would be fun, and somewhat inexpensive to piece together a stocker, but then i started thinking of lots of those misc. bolts, fasnters, ect and thought maybe it would be more of a headache, what do you guys think?

If you can find the parts you need cheap somewhere why not. but im sure all the little things would add up.

If not sell me a big bar kit lol

Re: piecing one togetha'

the big bar kit is on my bike, i swapped them out for stockers, which i rocked for damn near 6 months. i just thought for 4-500 bucks id be able to put one together with what i got...i dunno. i just bought a big bore kit, so ive got a complete top end with approx 25hours on it, stock bars, stock tires, stock rear shock, i see stock swingarms, forks, aftermarket gas tanks and knock off plastic kits for hella cheap...i dunno, i hate to start something and get halfway through and find out it would of been cheaper to just buy one...

I thought about doing that also. After I figured everything out it would cost about the same as just buying a used 50. Of course if you already have a bunch of parts laying around I would say go for it. You can find really good prices on used frames, forks, etc. if you look around. Planetminis, fiddylife, and here are good places to start looking through the classifieds for cheap parts.

Go for it. see how far you can get b4 it gets too expensive (if it does) and then yu can always sell the roller for a few bux if you want to. easier to offload a rolling chassis than a box of misc. parts.

I pieced a bike together from eBay. It was a 88cc w/ cam and carb, with plastics, tall seat bar kit, Pirelli street tires, springs front and rear etc etc and I built it for under $600
