i think a chinese one is a better buy for the purpose of just learning rear brake control. You can get 2 decent new chinese fiddys for the price of one used honda. Ive dropped my chinese fiddy at every speed imagineable, beat it to ****, and never changed the stock oil. Its already served its purpose as a training tool. For $1000 im moving on to a slightly bigger dirt bike, probably a ttr125. Buying a fiddy for $1000 is insane

honeslty, once your done building your fiddy how much of it's still honda? very little ( i'd have to say the honda brand motor is the only way to go ) but as for frame suspension adn all that bull. i doesn't matter, most of it's made in china anyway
i'm not argueing about this, but once your bike is build the only thing honda on it is usually the tank, plastics, and motor adn some of the bolts.
as long as you have some mechanical skill and are not keeping it stock , i'd say it's best to just build one from the ground up
