Z50R vs. XR50

I have an 82' Z50R that I'm overhauling. It appears as thought the bars are not bent, but originally welded crooked on their mounts. Anyhow, I would like to get another set of bars, prefferable bigger. So, my question is. Is the mount plate (trippleclamp) the same on the newer XR. If so, or if not, where is the cheapest place I can get a set of aftermarket big bars for my Z50? It's hard to tell on all the manufactururs webpages is the parts work for both bikes or just the XR's.

Z50 and XR50 triple clamps are different. Make sure when ordering a big bar kit etc. to order the Z50 one.

I am fairly certain that fast50s.com makes em...

hope this helps,

Thanks for all the replys.
DrinkWheelieMix, I like the sounds of cheap :-) I'm guessing your going to show me what I've been thinking about doing myself. Put a BMX head bracket onto the mounting plate and use bmx bars? Still post pics please! Or show me your idea if it's different.

what i did was take the handlebar clamps off a honda atc90(im macguyver like that). i had them lying around. i attached a pic of my triple set-up on my 93 z50. they are a direct bolt-on to your mounting plate (but the atc90 mounting plate fits fine as well, i used the atc90 cuz it was chrome..j.k.)(im not sure if any of these parts fit a XR i believe the clamps will fit but not the mounting plate) since i found out the atc90 parts fit i bought a few sets off Ebay and havent paid more then 8 bucks (plus shipping) for the set. after you bolt them on you will need a set of BMX bike bars i got mine for 12 bucks from the local shop.(careful u dont go to big on the bars or your throttle and brake cable wont be long enuff...i rerouted mine a different way to make more slack) sorry the pics are so bad i can ride a whoolie but i sure as hell cant take a picture. this is a very easy swap out to do and alot cheaper too..i have put my bars through hell and they aint budged an inch. im sure i forgot some info so u have any more questions just let me know.
