50 Stand

Does anyone have the measurments for a 50 work stand? I have a CRF50 and am not willing to pay $70 for something that will cost me less than $20 to make. So if someone has one or knows the measurements can you please let me know.

Re: 50 Stand

Yeah, I have one, but I would like to build a stand (Have all the welding, cutting tools and metal so really it isn't costing me anything).

So if anyone has the measurments let me know. Thanks.

Re: 50 Stand

if you can do all of the fab work yourself, then it shouldn't be too hard measure a milk crate.

Re: 50 Stand

Milk crate is a lot bigger at the top than a 50 stand is. I can measure an approximate for under the frame itself, but I figured the stands are made a certain width for a reason so it would be nice to know. Guess I am asking in the wrong place.

I am thinking if it is wider you will have more of a "Safety net" on either side incase you knock it it won't tip over. I'd just go with the milk crate.

Re: 50 Stand

I bought a stand off a guy at a race track a while ago who makes 'em. They're made for dirt bikes but work great for fiddys. The way it's made is that you get you bike over it then step on this lever that raises it to hold up the dirtbike. But since it use it for my fiddy, it only helps me when I'm working on it so I don't have stoop down. That's a good idea to make your own. Just look a some biek stands and copy off them. Hell, I made 2 wheel stands for my ysr50 in an afternoon using angle iron.

Re: 50 Stand

I just lay my fiddy on the ground lol..

Not like it's gonna take any more damage then when I drop it at 20mph on the pavment

Re: 50 Stand

Thanks for the info. Jimbo I have seen those around and have thought about those for my CRF250.

Towliee - this is my sons 50 and he is riding dirt so it has a couple scuffs from some good crashes, but nothing like street. He is too protective of it to lay on its side. Besides it has a kick stand I just want something to be able to lift the tires off the ground so I can do maintenance on it.

Found the info for anyone who wants to know.

top square is 9.5" each side, base square is 13.5" each side and height can range, but most are inbetween 10" and 16.5". I will we going with 16" so when he upgrades to a 70 we can still use the stand.
