how's the tranny in these things hold up from the abuse? i have been "clutching" up second like crazy. [the hold the shifter up/rev technique]. my 1-2 switch was notchy from new, but now it's really notchy. you can't do a 1-2 upshift without a wheelie.... my friends 50, also an 03' shifts much smoother...

 

Check out your shift shaft and see if its bent. Mine got a lot harder to shift after I bent mine. If you've beating up on the clutch maybe it's just out of adjustment. Owners manual will tell you how to do it.

 

Why use the clutch at all? Can't you bounce that tiny thing up?:p

 

I can yank my 80 up in 1-2-3 gear, I just love clutching it up, balances right away.

My legs, Knees, back, and tailbone are sore as **** from being on my 50 for 3 hours the other night.

 

I just rode mine last week during bike week for about 3 days, trust me mine hurts just to sit in a chair.
