Stearing a wheelie? Noobie post.

Alright :D so thanks alot for the help guys in my other post about actualy starting a wheelie. And after praticing all day today i can finaly bring it up and the odd time get it in to a nice wheelie *ok so it only stays up for say 3 meters or so* 1/10 times. but im praticing. so my next problem. stearing, So i can get it up but then it goes ****eyed and down i come. so whats the trick here? can you counter easly for a bad start or do you have to really have a good take off to stay good? Again any thoughts would be great :D help a northren guy out.

just keep practicing, it will come. to steer you just use your body english once you can keep it up.

dont get me wrong, im no expert fiddy stunter. ive had mine for about 2 weeks now. all stock but the street tires. but heres what ive noticed the last few days while practicing...

talk to yourself, tell yourself what you did wrong and what you need to correct it.
sit back on the seat. lean back like in an easy chair. give it gas and a split second later, pull straight up like youre bringing the fender up to your forehead. cover your brake. if you bring it too far back, dont be afraid and jump off (as long as you have a helmet on), just press the brake a little. if it doesnt come up enough, lean back more/ sit farther back on the seat. if you lean to one side, push on the peg of the opposite side to counter steer.

if i missed anything, or if anyone has a difference of opinoin, please post up. anyways, thats how im trying them.

Re: Stearing a wheelie? Noobie post.

steering is all in the body bro ... use your knees - if you come up bad just stick a knee out to the side to straighten it out .... when you get to actually steering it - like turning corners and **** it's a little bit of leaning and pushing the bars the way you want to go ...

It sounds like a cop out but the more time you spend on the seat the easier things will come to you - you'll just start doing it ....

Try small body movements to keep it straight, It doesnt take much to move the bike.

Also, dont keep much weight on the pegs, keep the weight in the seat, stays centered easier. IMO.

Highchairs are easier then a standup on the pegs.
