Hey guys just got my new fiddy and my friend got one two. We both bought the rear stiffer spring for it and was wondering how it comes apart. still waiting for them in the mail but want to get them apart.

 

I did mine last summer. The directions were kinda unclear. I have heard of many people messing up the rear shock cause they tried to force it off. you have to heat it up to get the spring off. I am at work now and not near the bike ( usually I take it to work to goof on but did not today ) and can't remember exactly where to heat up the shock to get the thing apart. If nobody else helps out I will chime in with some more info when I get home .

heat the tap where it bolts to the frame*obviously take it off the bike* and you should see a 14mm nut under the head of the shock use that to keep te shaft from spining and that top part just spins off

 

The way I did mine was:
1. Take the shock off.
2. Put the shock in a soft vice. Bottom that is.
3. Push the bump stop down and you will see a lock nut.
4. Hold that nut with a open hand wrench(cant rember the size) dont let the nut spin.
5. use a water pump plier(not wrench) and losen the top of the shock where it connects to the frame, besure not to let the lock nut move.
6. Assemble in reverse. Make sure lock lut is tight.
7. youre done, go do some wheelies...

 

I have done 6 of em so far....

Easiest way I have found... Take the whole shock out of the bike. makes life easier. put the bottom part in a vice. heat the top up a bit. use the 14mm to hold the nut. a BIG screwdriver in the top bolt hole and undo it with th escrewdriver. Then it off. Put on the new one. Bolt it in and jump ****!

 

dont forget to pop out the rubber bushing b4 you heat up that top piece you can use a heat gun instead of a torch

 

Thank's guys, for the info. I can't wait until i get mine and change it. We made a snow track last night and tore it up for about 3 hours till we were froze stiff. These bike are the best. I live way up north like Rouses Point.
