Gearing?

Thinking about puttin a new front sprocket on to go along with my new 72cc bore. I know it will be a little harder to wheelie (more like stock) than it is now but who cares, i'll deal with it. I was looking at going up 2 in front. Anyone know how much I can expect this to add to my top end?

Re: Gearing?

2 up will kill that thing. i like 1 down in the rear for 72s, or 1 up up in the front aint too bad. any more will pretty much kill it

Should be nice. I am 15/37 right now and it moves out. Can't keep the front end down in 1st and 2nd and it just flat out flys in 3rd. My chit rips.

I'm going 15/33 and if that still isn't enough top end i am going to go 16/33. I'm aiming for 60mph. If the TB88 with head and pipe won't pull it I'll stroke the sucker. :YEAH

Re: Gearing?

So how many mph can i expect to gain from going just 1 tooth up in front? If its less than 5mph i'll probably just leave the gearing stock... i'd heard of some crazy gearing with the 88cc kits, i figured the 72 could handle 2teeth up in front but it doesn't sound like it.

Re: Gearing?

id say 1 tooth is good for around 5 MPH. get one and try it out. takes a whole 5 minutes to swap it in or out.

Re: Gearing?

I had a 15 front with my stocker motor and it was nice. I put it on to get more top end when running downhills. Gave me a lot more before the limiter.

It didn't help anywhere else though.
