tall seat comfort

Do the tall seats have more padding in the rear? My freaking butt hurts after riding on that paper thin part next to the rear fender. I have been looking at some on e-bay but I don't want to waste my money if I am not going to get some comfort out of it.

Re: tall seat comfort

I've look at them, but think $50 is too much. Are you a new fiddy rider? The reason I ask is the "monkey butt" will go away after awhile.

Re: tall seat comfort

Yeah, I am new at it. I don't consider it as monkey butt, more like 2 stones poking me in my butt. That **** is sore dog.

Re: tall seat comfort

Lol ... oh it'll be sore for a while. I had trouble walking at one point. Me and Fuscat went to the Outback one time after a day of riding, and I could barely sit down.

Re: tall seat comfort

I had about 2 hours total riding time today. I rode around letting my dogs chase me this morning. Then after done the rear brake fix I rode around some more to see how good they worked. Then I rode an old xl185 I had fixed the carb on. Guess that was a little too much for one day.

Re: tall seat comfort

monkey butt seems to last about a week or a lil more for da new fiddy rider. i couldn't sit for a week easy

give your own seat a chance to break into a new groove ..lol

seriously though, once the dreaded "monkey butt" went away, i can ride for hours straight now and not even notice.

Re: tall seat comfort

bbr seats are soft and plushy but I think a little to soft. almost feels like your a$$ is a half inch from the sub frame. I got one from holeshot for like $80 with the seat and cover and have been riding it for two years. Softer and plushier than stock but still hard enough to keep your a$$ stable. It is from fiveo

Re: tall seat comfort

Not a big fan of the tall seats - fiddy *** will go away after you develop buildups on your butt cheeks...put in a solid 10 hours on it, that sucks when the top of your *** splits from riding (never happened to me, but I know of others)....

I just went to a fabric store and got an extra 1/2 inch of foam, stuck it to the existing, and re-upholstered my seat - feels much better....
