12 bar.

I want to buy a couple of 12 bars. The Baker Broz bar comes highly (thanks for the info Sonicjay) recommended. Looks like I have to paint it myself. I can have it powdercoated but that adds to the price.

The other one I am looking at is the Bad Phish bar. Painted and only $5 more than the Baker Broz bar. It looks like the Bad Phish bar isn't a quick disconnect on the 12 part. I would like to have that able to come off quickly for racing street and moto-x.

So which one is it for me? Who has what?

A little to pricey for me. I am trying to do this cheaper than that. That 50stunt bar looks really nice though.

That is what it looks like to me in the picture. Nice looking bar other than that.

I hear ya, but I don't want to bite into any of these guys designs. Take a look at a few. I think you can build one from scratch.

Re: 12 bar.

The Baker bar for sure. Takes a 'lil time for the install but I can disconnect the bar in like 20 seconds flat. I didn't paint mine and it's been sitting up wet for a few days and there isn't anything you can't just brush off. I'm going to paint it eventually though just for looks.

Re: 12 bar.

Beware of the bars that require you to drill holes in the frame, it weekens it bigtime. I have repaired 5 subframes already that were drilled out and broke off. Make sure to get a clamp on removable bar, or you could end up buying a new frame.

So all the guys that I have talked to and reccomend the baker bar are doomed to break the subframe? If I get it should I just weld the part on that would bolt to the subframe?

That sounds like a plan to me.

Re: 12 bar.

I have had my baker bar for more than a year...The original sytle...I threaten the fiddy at 255 and I pounded the living shiat out of that bar. Especially when I was first learning how to 12. No subframe damage... I have worn out the first plate on the bar and have to order a new one already..

So speaking from experience I would say the baker bar...I painted my piece and it had held up fine. My buddy didn't paint his either and it is still looking good....

Re: 12 bar.

I got the Bad Phish Elite (all alum. even the carrier) and its the pimp ticket. a tad more $$$ but weighs nothing and looks hella good polished up. I spent the money for the weight savings. When I rode other guys' bikes with the steel bars I just didn't like the balance point with it on. Felt weird to me. I got fork stiffeners and frame braces on my bike so its maybe a couple pounds heavier in the front. When I put on the BPE I swear its like its not even there, wheelies like a champ and feels just like it did before I put it on. Mine does have the allen's and nuts so a wrench is needed. I took it back off for the first time yesterday to ride on a dirt BMX track and it maybe took me 4 minutes.. no biggie. Highly recommended!

Re: 12 bar.

alright heres the ticket for you bro if you think you cant ride a wheelie to a 12 smoothy without hammering it all you need to do is after the installation spot weld the u pan to the sub. but if you feel confident on your 12ves you dont event need to do that . i am the founder of bruce's talent with the bad phish bars and i owned the very first 12 bar he has ever made. i learned on the bar from hammering it to a smooth hit/ glide slide what ever i want to do with the 12 bar. heres my opinion its very light, looks good, and has a warranty for how ever long i own one. im not knocking on any other bars im just saying sinced ive owned one i havent had any problems. as far as breaking your sub frame no matter how the bar is on the sub frame, if its hit mad hard with which ever bar the frame will bend. its all on the riders skills. i personally dont have mine welded and mine is fine. if you want to see what i mean bye hit it hard just check out the attack of the fiddies trailer. my home boy sean used to hammer his bar like a pile driver and he got the bad result. but now he knows how to ride and his is just fine.which ever bar you pick just ride it smoothy. also dont worry ive hit mine hard a couple of times and
its still ok. ride hard and skilled bro........

I'm pretty smooth doing my stunts. Never tried a wheelie to 12 though. My subframe has been bent up like a streetfighterr from a few jumps gone wrong. Whichever bar I put on, I am going to have my subframe reinforced before hitting it.

My first few tries hitting the bar will probably suck.
